Eintracht Frankfurt Press Conference and revealing poll
Eintracht Frankfurt press conference, Ange Postecoglou and Micky Van de Ven |
Whoosh
The first question in the pre-Eintracht Frankfurt game and Ange Postecoglou's answer demonstrates the difference between a winning mentality and a losing mentality.
Language matters.
Your outlook matters.
The journalist frames the question as many fans, in a negative way.
Is it salvaging a season.
Postecoglou, no, it's an opportunity to do something special.
A positive framing.
The subconscious matters.
You should be talking to yourself in a positive way.
That's why the people that abuse me are just proving they have losing mentalities...
And don't know what they are talking about.
I'd be interested to know if the meaning behind the answer went over the journalist's head.
It shouldn't have done, as Postecoglou made it perfectly plain telling the journalist that it depends upon your outlook on life.
He means negative (like 89-85% of people studies show) or positive.
Here is a poll on X that rather backs up those type of figures:
That's 75.1% with the wrong mentality, a loser's mentality, a negative mentality when winning mentalities are positive.
Micky Van de Ven was the player in the press conference and he said nothing.
He just gave standard PR answers to bat away every question, which is how most press conferences go.
Ange is a refreshing change to the folk who know what he is talking about.
They still haven't grasped that winners think and talk differently.
They still expect him to think like them.
But they have the wrong mindset so why would he?
You can hear the whoosh as it goes over reporters' heads, though.
