Official Team of the Week

4:00 pm

A little late this week thanks to my illness, but nearly better now, well enough to produce some more ramblings anyway from a Spurs fan who has enjoyed the trophies and felt the despair of relegation.

The Official Premier League rankings are produced by EA Sports and as part of the Player Ranking Series we'll take a look at the official rankings for goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards. We also look each week at the official Top 10 players and where all the Spurs players appear in the official statistics.

Now we'll start with the Official Premier League Team of the Week last week we didn't have a representative, do any of our boys feature this week? There are three players we were linked to during the summer transfer window, but first a reminder of the last match week.

The Premier League Team of the Week Series will run throughout the season, where I'll bring you the Official EA Sports Premier League Tea of the Week and the Individual Player Ratings, where they stand in the list of Premier League players.

Heurelho Gomes of Watford is starting to feature regularly in these Team of the Week teams as is Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk, the man they bought to replace Toby Alderweireld and Janie Vardy, the Leicester City forward scoring goals, thus the man on the moment for the press.

This week we see no Spurs players and as was the case with Garth Crooks we see Liverpool goalkeeper
Simon Mignolet between the sticks. As reasonable game as he has we should have scored, our shots were actually too close to him and not that difficult to save. At this level hitting the target is not enough.

Harry also agrees with Crooks over Carl Jenkinson, Morgan Schneiderlin, Raheem Sterling, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jamie Vardy.

The Premier League Team of the Week Series will run throughout the season, where I'll bring you the Official EA Sports Premier League Tea of the Week and the Individual Player Ratings, where they stand in the list of Premier League players.

As a build up to that each week I'll also be bringing the Team of the Week selects from TV Analysts/Pundits/Experts call them what you will. Now it's the chance of BBC TV Analyst and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Garth Crooks.

Last week he squeezed everyone into a 3-3-1-3 formation which included Christian Eriksen as the only Spurs player and Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal the only player who retained his place from the previous week.

Garth Crooks Team of Last Week

Heurelho Gomes (Watford)

Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City)
Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)
Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur)
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
Graziano Pelle (Southampton)
Sadio Mane (Southampton)

His team this week is a more conventional 4-2-3-1 and it is no surprise to see the Liverpool stopper as his keeper of the week. Carl Jenkinson returns to his defence, that's twice in four weeks, does he have a soft spot for him?

Premier League Team of the Week - Spurs dominate

5:00 pm

The Official Premier League rankings are produced by EA Sports and those statistics produce a Premier League Team of the Week which I'll bring you each week along with our Official Premier League Player Rankings.

In the Team of the Week last week we had Son Heung-min after he scored the winner against Crystal Palace. Following a resounding spanking of the proverbial Manchester City behind, do any of our boys feature this week?

The answer is 4, we dominate proceedings after a great result that surprised many, including our own fans. There are only 4 teams represented with Liverpool having 3 representatives, 2 from Arsenal and 2 from Southampton.
