The Club Responds to Your Abuse

The club responds to your abuse
The club responds to your abuse, so why abuse?

By the way, Tottenham Hotspur are working to secure Mikey Moore to a long term contract when he turns 18 in August.

The club continues to work to tie down Rodrigo Bentancur to a new 3-year deal.

And of course we have just had the news of Lucas Bergvall getting his contract extended until 2031 with a salary increase to reflect that.

Spurs intend to bring Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis in the summer by taking up our option on him. Suggestions that if another club offers more it makes no difference, our contract is legally binding.

We are in discussions with two high calibre managerial targets. If my information is correct, Mauricio Pochettino isn't one of them, however he hasn't been ruled out.

I think the compensation package might be an issue though.

Xabi Alonso definitely is though.

The Bayer Leverkusen head coach is in receipt of an offer from Daniel Levy and Florentino Pérez at Real Madrid.

Alonso understandably prefers Real Madrid at this stage.

This is my take on the situation, but I believe Ange Postecoglou wants out at the end of the season anyway.

I believe he has been affected by the losing mentality of our fanbase which exposes itself in constant abuse.

It is that relationship which appears to be untenable as the squad will certainly return to their rightful level in the Premier League next season.

They are almost an inconvenience amongst the Europa League games for what remains of the season.

A Message to the Toxic Tottenham Hotspur Fans

Fire and truth.

There is a reason I haven't been holding back lately.

The noisy, toxic mob don't like it, but tough.

Having worked with future professionals and captained men’s teams under pressure, I know how mindset spreads — and right now, Tottenham Hotspur’s mindset mirrors too many of its loudest fans.

Hello to the Spurs fans who can’t go five minutes without slagging off a player...

Demanding a new manager...

Or moaning about tactics after poor results…

Particularly when its the players not applying the same tactics they used to employ well!

That alone is a red flag to your opinions.

Ever wonder why the energy around Tottenham feels heavy?

Why the team doesn't produce when the pressure is on in finals?

We have been in six finals under Daniel Levy...

But how many have we turned up for?

Two?

Wondered why we fall apart under expectation?

Here’s your wake-up call:

It’s not just the players. It’s you.

The environment you create.

The signals you send.

You’re not lifting the club.

You’re dragging it down.

The Club is Responding to the Fanbase’s Psyche

Just like people treat you based on how you treat yourself…

A football club’s energy reflects the vibration of its fans.

You scream about "ambition" but spend your days vomiting negativity on forums and social media...

Booing players who don’t fit your fantasy squad...

And mocking any sign of progress that doesn’t come with silverware.

That’s not high standards.

That’s self-loathing with a scarf on.

Support Doesn’t Mean Silence — It Means STRENGTH

Support doesn’t mean clapping like a seal for mediocrity.

It means pushing the team upward...

Not sniping at every mistake like you're owed a Premier League title for surviving rainy nights in Burnley or Southampton.

Stop being that fan who forgives nothing...

But demands everything.

Stop begging for trophies...

While broadcasting to the world you don’t believe we’re good enough.

You think that’s tough love?

It’s just...

Love-less.

And it shows.

Ask Yourself This:

If you truly respected this club...

Its journey...

Its struggle...

Its soul...

What kind of supporter would you be?

Would you still boo your own player?

Still mock the manager’s philosophy?

Still claim to “love Spurs” while spreading nothing but doubt?

Because here’s the cold truth:

You don’t attract glory by whining. You attract failure by expecting it.

You Want Tottenham Hotspur to Stand Tall?

Then start standing tall yourself.

Project belief, not bitterness.

Respect the process, not just the prize.

Support the badge like you’re part of it...

Because you are...

Well, you're supposed to be.

THBN The Final Word:

The next time you feel the urge to tear the team apart online...

Pause.

And ask yourself:

“Am I helping my club rise… or am I just echoing the same noise that’s kept us from greatness?”

If your answer shames you, good.

Use it.

Transform it.

If it doesn't...

And you're one of the toxic protesters...

Then you're lying to yourself.

Tottenham Hotspur doesn’t need louder fans.

It needs better ones.

Ones who lift the club, not just their egos.

Support for goodness' sake.

The clue is in the name!

Ok let's be blunt with this.

What happens if someone is negative all the time?

  1. People Avoid Them.
Not because they're “too real” or “honest.”
But because they drain energy like a leaky pipe.
Being around them feels like slowly sinking in wet cement.
That's what you are doing to the players, the manager, the club staff, the club

  2. They Become Predictable — in the Worst Way.
Everyone knows what they'll say before they speak:
    “This’ll never work…(75% voted we'd lose to Eintracht Frankfurt - I voted we'd win!”
    “Typical Spurs…”
    “We’re bottling it again…”
Yawn. You’ve become background noise in your own story.

  3. They Miss Opportunities.
Negativity blinds them to anything good.
    A promising youngster? "Overrated."
A comeback win? "Papering over cracks."
They don’t enjoy moments — they dissect them to death.

  4. They Poison Progress.
Even when things improve, they resist it.
Why? Because growth threatens their identity.
    Misery became their comfort zone.
So any sign of joy feels like betrayal... to themselves.

  5. They Get Left Behind.
    Friends? Gone.
    Partners? Drained.
Fans around them? Tired of their bitter soundtrack.
    And worst of all?
The club they "love" has to drag them up the stairs to success as well.

So Let’s Be Clear:

If you're negative all the time...

You're not a realist.

You're a liability.

To your relationships.

To your future.

And yes — to your football club.

You can call it “standards” or “passion” all you want.

But constant negativity doesn't make you loyal.

It makes you a loud deadweight around the clubs neck.

OK let's tackle this in a way I have not tackled it before...

Biblically.

The Bible does offer guidance on how supporters...

And all people...

Should conduct themselves...

Even in frustrating situations...

Like supporting a football club that may underperform.

Biblical Perspective on Behaviour

  1. Respect for Authority – Romans 13:1-2 teaches submission to governing authorities, as they are instituted by God. While this primarily refers to civil government, the principle applies to leadership in all areas, including football clubs. Constant abuse of the chairman or manager undermines their ability to lead effectively.
  2. Constructive Speech – Ephesians 4:29 says: “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Instead of toxic chants or online abuse, supporters should offer measured criticism when necessary and encouragement where possible.
  3. Patience & Long-Suffering – Galatians 5:22-23 lists patience as a fruit of the Spirit. Football success doesn’t come overnight, and knee-jerk reactions (like demanding sackings after a run of bad results) often make things worse.
  4. Gratitude Over Entitlement – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 commands giving thanks in all circumstances. Fans should appreciate the club’s history, current efforts, and future potential rather than acting as if they deserve trophies.

How a Supporter Should Behave

  • Voice concerns respectfully – Criticism is fine, but it should be reasoned, not abusive.
  • Support the team, not just results – True loyalty means backing the club in tough times, not just when things are going well.
  • Avoid mob mentality – Social media amplifies negativity; don’t join in just because others are.
  • Pray for wisdom for leadership – Even if you disagree with decisions, pray that God guides the chairman and manager rather than tearing them down.

In short, a supporter should be passionate but disciplined...

Rooting for the club with faith, patience, and respect rather than entitlement and rage.

Success is more likely to come in an environment of unity than constant toxicity.

Which is exactly what Ange Postecoglou told you all at the start.

Key Takeaways: A Message to Toxic Tottenham Fans (Fire & Truth Edition)

  1. You Are Part of the Problem
    • Constant negativity, abuse, and entitlement from fans create a toxic environment that weighs down the club.
    • The team’s struggles in finals and under pressure mirror the fanbase’s self-destructive mentality.
  2. Negativity is a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
    • If you broadcast doubt, you attract failure.
    • If you demand trophies but expect disaster, you become the obstacle to success.
  3. Real Support ≠ Blind Optimism, But It Also ≠ Constant Whining
    • Constructive criticism is fine—mindless toxicity is not.
    • Booing players, mocking progress, and turning every setback into an excuse to rage makes you part of the losing culture.
  4. The Bible’s Warning for Toxic Fans
    • Respect authority (Romans 13:1-2) – Levy and the manager deserve fair judgment, not endless abuse.
    • Speak life, not death (Ephesians 4:29) – Your words should build up the club, not tear it down.
    • Patience is a virtue (Galatians 5:22-23) – Success takes time; knee-jerk rage solves nothing.
    • Gratitude > Entitlement (1 Thessalonians 5:18) – Spurs don’t owe you trophies; support the journey, not just the destination.
  5. Change or Get Left Behind
    • Toxic fans drain energy, become predictable, and poison progress.
    • If you love Spurs, act like it—stop being the deadweight holding the club back.

Final Challenge:

Next time you want to rant online, ask yourself:
  • “Am I helping Spurs rise… or just reinforcing the loser mentality I claim to hate?”
  • If the answer shames you, change.
  • If it doesn’t, you’re part of the disease, not the cure.
Tottenham Hotspurdoesn’t need louder fans. It needs better ones.
Support properly...

Or don’t pretend you care about success.
