Willian José Flying Over To Sign For Spurs

Willian José Flying Over To Sign For Spurs

I saw a report in the Daily Mail suggesting we had offered Milan Erik Lamela as part payment for striker Krzysztof Piątek which is, of course, complete nonsense, they asked us for him, which is totally different.

They enquired about Juan Foyth and we would be prepared to send him to Italy on loan as they take pride in defensive work and he would develop his game there.

Tottenham value Foyth at double what we paid for him (£11.7m) which puts him in the same bracket as Piątek and Milan don't want to pay that for him.

Milan have now got the sale they were looking for, rather than the loan that we and most other clubs were offering.

Alternatives

Lack of clinical finishing keeps killing us without Harry with several players missing virtual sitters and poor final passes around the box, for which Dele Alli is the main culprit.

Tottenham Transfer Talk takes a look at our scouting and finds Spurs have been scouting Valencia left-back José Luis Gayà

In May 2018 José Gayà snubbed a potential big-money move to Manchester United, Atletico Madrid or Arsenal in favour of signing a new, long-term contract that expires in 2023.

Spurs have already held discussions about a move for the Spanish international (7 caps, 1 goal, 2 assists) this summer. Chelsea are said to be keen on him too.

Son Heung-min came from the Bundesliga and Spurs have been scouting strikers there. including Wout Weghorst, Paco Alcácer, Mario Götze, and Timo Werner.

Wout Weghorst is a 6ft 4in 27-year-old (28 in August) Dutch international (4 caps, 0 goals, 0 assists in 47 minutes) striker who moved from AZ Alkmaar to Wolfsburg at the opening of the 2018 summer transfer window.

Paco Alcácer is a 5ft 7in 26-year-old (27 in August) Spanish international (19 games, 12 goals, 2 assists) striker who moved from Barcelona to Borussia Dortmund at the opening of the 2019 summer transfer window. he looks as though he is moving back to Spain to Villarreal.

Mario Götze is a 5ft 7in 27-year-old (28 in June) German international (63 caps, 17 goals, 11 assists) striker who moved from Bayern Munich to Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window of 2016. Götze has represented Germany as an attacking midfielder and on both wings.

Timo Werner is a 5ft 9in 23-year-old (24 in March) German international (29 caps, 11 goals, 2 assists) striker who moved from Stuttgart to RB Leipzig at the opening of the 2016 summer transfer window.

I can confirm we are talking to 33-year-old (34 in September) Olivier Giroud but so are several clubs and as I said before we have irons in the fire. From what I have heard Giroud will end up at Lazio.

There are a restricted number of players available during this window of course and we want a loan deal so any transfer fee goes into next year's accounts.

Piatek is going to Hertha Berlin because AC Milan wanted money in this year's accounts and so a straight transfer to the Germans is better for their accounts.

So who are we going to sign?

Time: 5:55 am 30 Jan 2020

From what I hear, it will be 28-year-old (29 in November) Real Sociedad striker Willian José who asked not to play again for Sociedad until his situation is resolved.

I believe he is flying over today to sign, we have already agreed on terms with him, it's just a matter of agreeing on a fee with the Spanish side.

Release clauses in Spain are merely to ensure a player does not leave cheaply so there isn't a chance of us paying the €70 million (£59.23m) that was placed on him when he extended his contract in October 2018.

In Iberia (Spain and Portugal) players have to accept a raising of their release clause when they get a wage increase.

While Real Sociedad, according to information from " Cadena Ser ", have at least €50 million (£42.3m) in mind, Tottenham are striving for a deal for half this amount.

In the event of any sale, 30 percent of the profit to Josés ex-club Maldonado. He was bought from the Uruguayan club in 2016 for just €6 million (£5.08m).

The former Brazilian U-20 (15 caps, 5 goals) centre-forward has not been in the Real Sociedad squad for their last three games, his last outing was on the 19th January and then for only 19 minutes. The game before that was a Copa del Rey tie and he played 12 minutes of that.

It is back on 5th January that he last had a meaningful outing, 71 minutes against Villarreal, a game in which he scored his 8th goal of the season from 17 starts (5 substitute appearances).

His goals have all come in LaLiga against Espanyol (2), Deportivo Alavés, S.A.D., Real Betis, Levante, Real Madrid, SD Eibar and Villarreal.

José has 53 goals and 13 assists in 130 games for Real Sociedad, 55 goals and 14 assists in 144 games in LaLiga for Sociedad, UD Las Palmas and his one outing for Real Madrid. He has also scored 5 goals in 6 Europa League ties for Real Sociedad.

Barcelona have been looking at him as a backup striker but they have ended their interest I believe which removes an obstacle from our path.
