TRANSFER TALK

Another picture of a new Spurs shirt for the 2017/18 season is doing the rounds on Twitter so here is a look at it for you. It is quite clearly a fake as it has the wrong badge, their is no shield around it.

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest German giants Bayern Munich will sell Douglas Costa to Italian champions Juventus once they have purchased Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. Sanchez is obviously not interested in playing UEFA Europa League football next season and a move to Germany virtually guarantees him trophies, the German league being a one-team league.

They also suggest along with a deal for 21-year-old (22 next Jan) Czech Republic international (he has 4 full international caps scoring 1 goal) Patrick Schick, there is a deal agreed for Liverpool and Everton target Keita Baldé Diao. Diao is a highly regarded  22-year-old (23 next March) Senegalese international (he has 12 full international caps scoring 3 goals) winger currently playing for Lazio, with whom he has a contract until 2018.

New Leaked Spurs Shirt with Shield Badge

6:00 am

We are coming to the end of our five-year association with American firm Under Armour and will be wearing a new Nike kit for our year at Wembley next season.

The are plenty of new concept kit designs doing the rounds and this design has the shield badge we know will be incorporated. It is a simple uncluttered design with blue under the arm and down the side.

I'm not sure about the blue badge, there seem to be enough colours without including one more, white, navy blue, red sponsor and light blue.

There is Spurs written into the navy blue stripe around the collar that looks as if it has a light blue strip.

My immediate impression was that I like this one and that it looks as though it has a chance of being the real thing.

It has the shield badge and it has the blue strip which ITK suggest are the two elements we know are part of the new shirt.

Yet another new Spurs kit design for 2017/18

11:00 pm

TOTTENHAM TALK

The Internet has thrown up yet another new Tottenham Hotspur kit design for the upcoming 2017/18 season where we will be playing the full season at Wembley while the new Spurs stadium is built at White Hart Lane.

Again this one is clearly a fake as it doesn't have the shield badge but other than that I quite like this one. Again whoever has designed this has taken inspiration from Under Armour shirts with the diagonal slash but this one is certainly an upgrade on the shirt we actually wore for the 2015/16 season in my opinion.

It has been designed for FootballBoots.co.uk so is clearly a promotional tool and an excuse for them to put 25 hashtags on a page! The image equivilent of clickbait.

The blue on the shoulders, the fading of the socks and shirt stripe give an air of quality. Definitely a thumbs up.

Another new Spurs kit design leaked for 2017/18

11:30 pm

Well what do you think of this Kit chaps? It clearly isn't ours as the badge doesn't have the shield around it, a feature we know the new shirt has. Some seem to like it though. It would do as an away kit or a third kit I suppose. I quite like the idea of a nearly all navy blue kit but not sure about the tyre tracks going around the chest.

Now we are moving to Nike, I can't see them using that part of the design which surely inspired by the Under Armour shirts we had. One advantage is that it takes the red AIA branding of the shirt and replaces it with a white one, something we would all much prefer I'm sure.

I have lost count of the number of 'new' kit designs we have seen, few seem plausible. The actual new design is believed to be based on the design of the current England shirt.

The shirt below is far better than the one above and in a Twitter poll most fans said they preferred white socks instead of blue.

Another New Spurs Kit Leak 2017/18

Yet another new kit design 2017/18

There have been many leaks of new kits for next season. As I said before graphic designers like to show what they can do and expose their designs to the world in the hope of picking up some work. Where this horrendous kit emanatess from I have no idea but it is doing the rounds on the Internet at the moment.

A double blue band around the collar isn't so bad, but what looks like England grey sleeves seems a bit lazy to me and the two bands around the chest simply emphasise the red AIA sponsorship on the shirts. We don't want to be emphasising red!

The second kit is all rather bland, but passable while the third shirt does absolutely nothing for me. Some shirts grow on you but these look like cheap designs from someone with no imagination. I wouldn't want to hire whoever designed these shirts.

New 2017/18 kit for sale in America

10:30 am

TOTTENHAM TALK

Well, I have been bringing you news of new Spurs kit leaks for the 2017/18 season and let you know it will be from the Nike Federation Template with a blue stripe down the side from what my research ascertains.

I have shown you examples and seen releases from creative designers showing the world their design skills. Fashion is a big industry afterall and a new kit is a chance for unknown talent to put their work out on social media for influential people to see. No doubt they are hoping to get snapped up.

Now I have seen this new kit before but there is a US website selling what they claim is the new Spurs kit for 2017/18. I hope it is because it is rather nice, far better than the last effort we saw which was found in Turkey, unfortunately Turkish shirts are often right.

While the Turkish shirt has a blue strip down the side this kit does not and a read of the technical details is off-putting as well.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Inspired by Nike's most recent jersey designs and Tottenham's legacy, the home shirt included in this set of Nike Spurs jerseys is white with navy sleeves and a navy collar. The front shows a pretty intricate graphic that incorporates the club logo in a pattern of diagonal pinstripes. This was inspired by the famous Hummel 1985-86 Spurs shirt.

Incidentally, while I'm showing the website concerned, if you head over there you can buy an England shirt and the current Tottenham shirt for £19.99 plus shipping I presume, which would still work out cheap. The shipping as far as I can see is £9 and Premier League badges are £2 extra.

If you bought one shirt, which looks rather nice anyway, with badges and shipping, that would be £27.90 and you can pay that for a fashion top anyway.

SPURS NEW KIT

I have recently written a couple of articles on our new kit for next season bringing you a kit that I didn't think looked genuine as it was way to similar to the one we have now. Clearly a graphic designer with limited imagination had come up with that one, certainly if I were after one, and this is why these people create them, then I wouldn't hire one who didn't show his creative side.

Article: Another New Spurs Kit Leak 2017/18

Still, that is all very personal and perhaps I'm not the market he or she is after. Anyway the next article was about our kit being based on Nike's Federation Template and I showed some examples of that, the England kit and the French away kit from 2015/16.

Article: Federation Style New Kit

A shirt has been found in Turkey I though you might like to see as it is similar to the Federation template and it does have the strip down the side, a strip that will appear on our new kit.

Yuck is my first thought, followed by the colour of the top band in grey, if it were navy blue I'd have more faith. As it is I'll reject it as a fake.

NEW KIT TALK

Tottenham have a shirt deal with Nike and with another, almost certainly fake kit leak, news which I brought to you via the Spurs Kit Leak 2017/18 Season article, discussion has begun whether a kit is important or not.

Some seem to think a shirt deal with Nike means they sell the shirts and we get a cut of the profits, yet Spurs have outlets of their own and sell the shirts as well. There is a fanbase around the world who want to see a shirt they like, to encourage as many to buy as possible.

Tottenham is a worldwide brand, it is a major company and thus everything about it must signify the club ethos, must adhere to the club mission statement and must promote quality. Everything is part of our identity and a shirt or kit is a very visible too to market a brand. The design of it is important in those regards.

We already know there is to be a redesign of the crest, our emblem being put inside an old style shield, just a part of how the kit will differ from the one we have now. Any kit leak you see of a similar design to the existing shirt you can immediately completely dismiss, Nike will want to set themselves apart from Under Armour, not blend in with them.

From what I understand we are having a shirt based on their 'Federation' template, which is the shirt England use. That basically suggests the shirt will be white, perhaps with blue sleeves and a dark blue stripe down the side. That is what I'm expecting to see when it is eventually announced. Something similar to the shot below perhaps, but with our colours.

Their Federation shirt encompasses the sleeves where the existing shirt doesn't and if the yellow is removed it again becomes something different. Moving any blue back onto the shoulders makes it less prominent than the current shirt or it could be removed altogether to look something like the old 2015/16 French away kit, with a blue stripe of course.

SPURS KIT LEAK 2017/18 SEASON

Yet another supposed Spurs kit for next season is doing the rounds on Twitter. A white shirt, with the wrong colour blue and yellow socks. Our sponsorship with AIA runs until 2019 and is worth £16 million (€18.85m - AUS$26.43m - US$20.01m) a year.

We are moving to a new kit manufacturer Nike. Nike, Inc. is an American multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, and worldwide marketing and sales of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories, and services Wikipedia tells us. They and Adidas are the two top sports apparel brands. We are constantly being linked with players whose boots they sponsor, but that is just a coincidence.

Moving to Nike though, it wouldn't make any sense for them to design a shirt that was similar to our last shirt from a different manufacturer, Under Armour. Nike will want to make their mark, they will want to stand apart from what has gone before. They won't want any confusion with an old kit or another manufacturer so this 'leak' doesn't look at all genuine to me.

The new shirt guessing game has begun

2:30 pm

NEW SPURS KIT 2017/18

Plenty of people like to speculate what a new Tottenham kit may look like and even though we haven't hit January yet the speculation has started with news of the £25 million-a-year shirt manufacturing deal with Nike next season. That takes over from the existing £10 million-a-year Under Armour deal.

Football Nerd's Rupertgraphic has created no less than four possible Nike Tottenham shirts, although if memory serves this is the last year of AIA sponsorship which if my memory is right will mean we will be dispensing with their red on our shirts, not that any of these shirts have red so clearly are a fans guess as opposed to a 'leak' as claimed elsewhere in a headline. The website makes it perfectly clear these are simply guesses.

I quite like that home shirt, a nice touch with the cockerel and the blue shirt is nice and simple, matches this website too!

New Kit confirmed?

5:00 pm

TOTTENHAM TALK

New kit is available and this time it is the training kit. Looking at this perhaps confirms that the leaked shirts are the correct ones for next season.

They will just have to grow on me I suppose, if memory serves, and it doesn't always, July 7 is when they go on sale ahead of the Australian trip. maximise shirt sales before we go.

Training Tops are available from the official club shop should any of you want one.
