Transfer Talk and Transfer Fees

Son Heung-min second most valuable Spurs player
Transfer Fees
Everyone shouting about Daniel Levy putting in, low ball offers (which every club does to lower expectation ahead of a negotiation) should note that Tottenham transfer target Giovani Lo Celso is independently valued at below £54.45m.

Real Betis are asking £66.79m

Harry Kane £138.54m
Heung-min Son £86.76m
Tanguy N'dombélé £61.59m
Nicolo Zaniolo £60.97m
Lucas Moura £57.58m
Christian Eriksen £54.72m
Eden Hazard £107.74m

Lyon are asking between £53m and £71m for Tanguy N'dombélé and our opening offer was £44.53m.

For all of you about to rant and rave about Eriksen, his value is because he only has a year left on his contract, if he signs another then his transfer value will shoot up. At the moment, as his contract runs down, he is a depreciating asset.

Ozan Kabak

The news a week ago was that Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Schalke, and Arsenal were all interested in 19-year-old (20 next March) Stuttgart and Turkey defender Ozan Kabak.

The news from Turkey is that Monaco has won the race for his signature and that he is near a €15m (£13.35m - $16.83m) move to AS Monaco.

One o cross off your list.

Real Madrid target Heung-min Son, Spurs eye Lozano

Real Madrid target Heung-min Son, Spurs eye Lozano

Flavour of the month at the World Cup in Russia last summer was Mexican winger Hirving Lozano.

The 23-year-old (24 in July) plays for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie and has been the subject of a bid from Italians Napoli.

Cero venermato of RAI reported on air for CalcioNapoli24.

"Lozano is the least difficult player to buy. Tottenham has also joined the race for Lazano since Real Madrid have targetted Heung-min Son.

"Napoli have high hopes of reaching an agreement because PSG and Manchester United are not actively pursuing him. If these three clubs slip away, as is possible, Napoli is willing to sign Lorenzo and he to join the Azzurri because Carlo Ancelotti has improved them.

"Napoli offers five years for €2.5m (£2.23m - $m) plus easy bonuses. They have offered €40m (£35.62m - $m) but PSV wants €50m (£44.53m - $m) but his agent Riola is convinced an agreement can be reached.

Two Cracking Players

A few facts for your Tweets tomorrow.

Before we played Everton we were the lowest scorers in the Top 6. I have urged us to improve our finishing and over the last two games the players have knocked in 11 goals. We have improved our goal difference by 9 and now there are only 2 sides who have scored more than, Manchester City 51 goals and 43 goals. We have scored 42 goals.

Everton didn't play a defensive midfielder and had no protection for their defence, which we tore to pieces. We also learned that Andre Gomes isn't a good enough player for us, defensively he was fast asleep for the Dele Alli goal and if you play for Spurs, you must defend as part of our system.

Against Bournemouth today we weren't at our best, yet we still put five past them. Son bagged two more and is on a scoring streak. Unfortunately, we will lose him in January and Erik Lamela will have to step up to the plate once more. I feel his form has dipped a little from his scoring spell.

Harry Kane now has 12 Premier League goals in 1617 minutes. He currently scores a goal every 135 minutes. He has 3 assists and with 31 of his 49 shots having been on target, he has an accurate shot percentage of 63%. That is according to the BBC, according to the Premier League he has had 63 shots. Statistics!

Harry Kane has now scored 120 goals in 172 Premier League games with a further 17 assists and has won Player of the Month 6 times, January, February 2015, March 2016, February, September and December 2017. A barren year for him in 2018!

He has scored 18 headed goals, 72 with his right foot, 29 with his left foot, 17 penalties and 1 free-kick. He has had 659 shots with 300 on target, a Premier League career shooting accuracy of 46%. He has hit the woodwork 20 times and missed 75 big chances

Heung-min Son now has 7 Premier League goals this season and 37 in 113 Premier League games, with a further 16 assists. he has won Player of the Month 2 times, September 2016 and April 2017.

Son has 2 headed goals, 21 with his right foot and 14 with his left foot. The South Korean has had 224 shots with 94 on target a Premier League career shooting accuracy of 42%. He has hit the woodwork 8 times and has missed 18 big chances.

We have two cracking players.

Transfer Talk - de Ligt, Ings, Heung-min Son

Transfer Talk - de Ligt, Ings, Heung-min Son

Danny Ings wants to leave Liverpool, where will he go next

Transfer Talk - Matthijs de Ligt

Juventus have reportedly agreed personal terms with 18-year-old (19 in August) Spurs former target, Ajax centre-back and captain Matthijs de Ligt. It has been clear for a while now that his preference was to join Juventus, undoubtedly the reason we pulled out of the contest to sign him.

Transfer Talk - Danny Ings

I wrote earlier in the window that 25-year-old (26 in July) Liverpool striker Danny Ings might be a good option to go for as a backup striker for Harry Kane. Now the Daily Mirror are reporting that we are supposedly interested. We, of course, tried to sign him when he left Burnley, but he chose Liverpool and has had 2 years of injuries.

Rumours of him going to Rangers are obviously in full flow with Steven Gerrard now in charge up there. I can't see him making such a backward step myself. He wants to leave for first team football and a successful backup striker would get more game time.

Transfer Talk - Heung-min Son

A German paper report that Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing 25-year-old (26 in July) Heung-min Son this summer and talkSPORT suggest therefore that they are ready to test our resolve, which is pure guesswork on their part.

Arsenal are not in the UEFA Champions League so have nothing to offer him, they are obviously dismissed immediately, leaving Liverpool, who can offer him no more than we are offering him anyway so it's hardly likely he would want to go there.

That leaves Manchester United and quite frankly, I don't see them making an offer at all, especially with 2 years national service hanging over him. He would make a strange signing.

I think we can safely say it is garbage from talkSPORT over them 'testing our resolve'. Clearly, the journalist hasn't researched his article at all, just written some garbage, rather common for themI'm afraid.

VIDEO: Son Heung-min vs Monaco

12:30 pm
We have a big fan base in one of our target markets, Asia and they like to watch one of their own in action. Since returning from injury there hasn't been a great deal to watch, he doesn't look as if he has got back on the same wavelength at the moment. His shooting in the last couple of game has been high and wide on several occasions, he needs to improve his game firstly, back to the level he was before his injury.

One thing I'd like to know from an Asian reader is, which should I be using, Son Heung-min or Heung-min Son?

VIDEO: Son individual highlights vs Qarabag

10:45 pm
Heung-min Son is an intellignt footballer around the box, he seems to find spce consistently between the two lines of the defence and when a little deeper rarely give the ball away.

He has settled brilliantly at the club which was just what we needed after a few failed signings with people making excuses that it takes time tio adjust. Adjustment is again down to motivation to succeed, if you want it bad enough you work out what you must do to adjust quicker, taking a year or even two years is quite frankly unacceptable.

Below is his individual performance agaiunst Qarabag in the UEFA Europa League.

Heung-min Son's marketing message

Heung-min son's marketing message

Heung-min Son, when speaking to the Official Tottenham Hotspur Website, demonstrated the marketing principle that people like to watch 'one of their own'.

VIDEO: Heung-min Son full individual highlights vs West Ham

Heung-min Son admitted he used to watch Spurs because we had a fellow South Korean playing for us, Lee Young-Pyo. He is retired now (age 38) but was our left-back who former manager Martin Jol once described as "the best left-back in Holland" before joining us from PSV.

Our two key marketing areas are North America and Asia, with China as another huge potential but problematical market. On our books are Americans DeAndre Yedlin (on loan at Sunderland), Cameron Carter-Vickers, currently catching the eye in the youth ranks, Heung-min Son and Japanese youth international Cy Goddard.

Generally people only take note of first-team football, but as you need squad players continually coming through so you need players from the major marketing spots around the world coming through if at all possible. South Koreans will be taking note of Tottenham, they will be following Heung-min Son, especially given he isn't a peripheral figure, but a main first-team player who plays in important games.

He is a major star in his country so quite apart from the fact he is a quality footballer, he is also a valuable marketing tool. Playing in European fixtures is again important for exposure in Asia, especially against Azerbaijan side Qarabag and name side like Monaco.

having a player on your books is one thing, but if you want them to have an impact on fans in their own country they need to play the big games, obviously only if they are good enough. manchester United stole a march on everyone in Japan withShinji Kagawa and now they have a big following, Spurs will be hoping for the same effect in South Korea. Once someone watches a club regularly they form a bond, the strength of that bond determines whether they go on supporting or following the fortunes of that club long after the player has left.

Everyone is searching for the first American superstar who can engage an audience with a club, he will be a goldmine. Tottenham are taking the NFL route to get into the homes of millions of Americans. If we can find and develop a 'superstar' American player even better. I have no doubt the idea is on our radar, hence the purchase of DeAndre Yedlin.

The business has to be successful for the football team to be successful.
