Summer Transfer Window Day 20

Summer Transfer Window Day 20

Hello again dudes and dudettes, it is Tuesday, the Summer Transfer Window Day 20.

If you didn't read yesterdays short post then you can do so now, it'll only take a couple of minutes: Summer Transfer Window Day 18.

ENIC will not be selling the club in the next year or longer quite frankly, despite what Alasdair Gold might think, there is far too much money coming into the Premier League to do that.

I'll explain a lot more in a separate post, that I have started writing but will take longer as I do these posts and dip into that one.

Spurs have three players signed early this pre-season transfer window and the club are working on a couple of positions we want to fill before the Spurs South Korean tour, which is basically the start of our pre-season.

Pre-season actually starts at the beginning of July with an extra week off for international players, so they come back just before we go away to South Korea and incidentally it is good to see the Spurs women going off on an American tour. Good luck to them.

Centre-back and an attacker who can play across all three positions, preferably, are the two areas of need, with any other signings not deemed as urgent, even though Spence could happen any time.

Barcelona are pushing us to take Lenglet on a 2-year loan deal, hence why you see his name on social media, but he isn't a top choice for us, Bremer is the main centre-back I believe we will bring in.

As I have said for a while now Richarlison is our first choice attacking target.

Anthony Gordon was thrown into the mix yesterday but there is zero chance Everton sell him as he is the best youngster they have had for years and thus is the future.

Discussions are moving forward so I'm sure this deal will get done, which will then allow Bergwijn to join Ajax.

We have the usual still negotiating stories you get every time a deal is done and one side are waiting for the other yto get a replacement in before releasing a player for transfer, then magically everything gets agreed in no time.

People fall for this one every window.

Harry Winks will then most likely become an Everton player under Frank Lampard.

Joe Rodon was also offered to Everton on loan and he wasn't the only player, a bit of a tack your pick from this list negotiation.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright and Daniel Levy had dinner at Scott's in Mount Street, London on Monday night. This was reported by a journalist sitting at a nearby table.

They have a huge selection of market-fresh fish, seafood and caviar plus an elegant oyster and champagne bar Wikipedia tells me.

In other news a journalist claims Everton and Spurs haven't spoken!

Gabriel Jesus was never a serious target, he was offered to us and we said no. His agent was constantly on to us and we thus looked at the financials but he isn't the player we wanted.

Raphinha again was not a player we were serious in either, as he can only play wide, not as a centre-forward.

Again we looked at the financials, which is doing due diligence and decided the cost of two players could be better utilised.

Thus we dropped interest, concentrated on Richarlison which leaves the striker money we would have had to spend available for other areas of the team.

You'll note I have hardly talked about Jesus and Raphinha, for good reason, while the press have, and now you know why.

Gleison Bremer

Torino director Davide Vagnati is flying to London to attend meetings with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Leicester City regarding Gleison Bremer and Dennis Praet.

There is no money in the Italian game, most clubs are in trouble after Covid, thus buying low and selling high is essential to stay afloat and ahead of Financial Fair Play, which has had adjustments that do nothing to help the smaller clubs.

Tottenham want to get Bremer over the line in the next two weeks.

Joško Gvardiol

We are talking to Joško Gvardiol, or his agents, as they contacted Tottenham, obviously already knowing we held an interest in him.

RB Leipzig are insistent he isn't for sale and I understand there is no current release clause, which if met had it existed, would then have become the domain of the player whether he wants to move or not, like the Jack Grealish move last summer.

His agent might be using us to get a better deal with a report from Croatia suggesting he was close to signing a contract extension, which will include a release fee, but may also contain a date on which it can be triggered to stop clubs jumping on it next summer.

Just be assured Spurs are leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of players this summer and our new financial status, thanks to the stadium, puts us firmly in the elite player market.
