Defying Expectations and Unmasking Hidden Talents

  • Daniel Levy right, fans wrong
  • All managers are not equal

Spurs position in the English Premier League (EPL) table demonstrates that Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board are right and the fans are wrong.

I have said it before, not all managers or head coaches are equal, there are varying levels of ability and Daniel Levy, quite rightly, expects the pinnacle of performance from them.

The managers/head coaches we have had have simply not been good enough, Ange Postecoglou and before him Mauricio Pochettino have proven that.

Spurs are playing with half a second team, players the fans say are useless, but Spurs sit 5th 1 point off 3rd and 3 points off second.

Clearly, these players are better than the fans would have you believe, they just needed a manager who could create a system for them to flourish in.

That isn't to say they can't be improved upon but a big part of that is the manager making them a saleable asset and our head coaches/managers haven't been doing that.

That's down to them and the players, not the chairman.

Are you the best person in the world at your job?

No, you're not, you're probably not even the best person in your country or county/state.

You were employed because the management felt you could do a job, they hoped you'd be good at it, they hoped you'd be committed to it and want to improve your performance.

They saw something in you and 'took a chance' on you, but your success or failure, your performance is entirely down to you, not the CEO.

If you are at work going through the motions, not particularly enjoying your job, you're not going to improve or develop and you're not going to be an asset to another company.

You are not increasing in value.

That's you and your manager, not the CEO who are at fault.

Yet football fans blame the CEO, wrongly.

To fans with hatred in their hearts, Tottenham's resurgence with largely the same players was unforseen...

But the the sensible fan it was expected.

Why?

Because Spurs finished in a position beneath their ability, having given up on the last manager and stopped playing as a team.

A happy squad would always see them return to their rightful place in and around the top 4.

That has proven to be the case.

It's a tale of injuries, redemption, and a cheeky wink at those doubting the prowess of certain players.

The Spurs' Tightrope Act in the EPL

Spurs, currently are a tantalizing 5th spot in the EPL, just one point shy of 3rd place and a mere three points off 2nd spot.

Now, add a dash of drama – the flurry of injuries hitting key players like a hurricane.

It sounds like a script from a Hollywood blockbuster where the hero is down and out but a messiah helps and the hero overcomes adversity to triumph.

Well, this is the real-life drama currently unfolding at Tottenham Hotspur.

Unveiling the Unsung Heroes

Here's the plot twist that has left fans and critics alike scratching their heads – those players fans might've dismissed as 'useless' are turning out to be the unsung heroes of this Spurs revival.

It's like having an underdog story unfold right before our eyes, and trust me, it's a beauty to behold.

Think about it.

Those players who were seemingly relegated to the shadows are now stepping into the limelight, showcasing skills and determination that those with hatred in their hearts failed to recognize.

It's almost poetic – the underappreciated talents rising from the ashes like phoenixes, proving that they were diamonds in the rough all along, well, not quite diamonds but you know what I mean.

Some, I would suggest, now have a transfer value that could help Spurs improve the squad. Like it or not, economics matter in football and player trading can not all be to a large deficit every year.

It catches up with you financially.

The Managerial Magic: Levy's Hidden Gem

Let's take a moment to dissect the role of the man behind the scenes – the pantomime villain to the 'hatred hearted' Daniel Levy.

In the grand scheme of things, it appears that previous managers, excluding Mauricio Pochettino, might not have been the wizards we hoped for.

Levy, however, seems to have pulled a rabbit out of the hat, breathing new life into a squad that was gasping for air.

Levy's managerial choices and strategic decisions are like chess moves – calculated and precise.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the previous managers weren't equipped to tap into the full potential of these players.

Tasked with improving players and developing youth, they failed.

Despite glorious CV's (resumes), despite their own faith in their coaching abilities and agreement to undertake those tasks, they failed.

Not the CEO, they failed, just like your job is mainly down to you, not the CEO.

Levy, on the other hand, fails to let failures rest easy, off they go to be replaced in the search for the 'unexposed' next big thing in the managerial world.

Spurs do not want, nor can afford actually, a money manager, someone who can only have success bought for him.

Tottenham requires a top-level coach to improve players, rather than a buying manager.

It's the sustainable way to behave.

Has Daniel Levy cracked the code with Postecoglou, the beginning is promising.

A Message to the Naysayers

So, to those who doubted the players and questioned Levy's decisions, this surge back up the league table is a resounding "I told you so."

It's a lesson in resilience, a slap in the face of skepticism, and a celebration of the beautiful unpredictability of football.

The journey from underachievers to title contenders is no smooth ride, but oh, is it thrilling.

Tottenham = triumph and despair as this new journey of rebuilding reaches the first 6 months of its infancy.

The Final Whistle

As the Spurs faithful cheer on our rejuvenated squad, there's a sense of vindication in the air.

The underappreciated players have become the darlings of the crowd, Davies for instance has been brilliant in his deputy role, while Emerson has played right-back, left-back and central defence.

Levy's masterstroke in the managerial realm has silenced the doubters.

It's a story that transcends the boundaries of football – it's a story of belief, redemption, and the sweet taste of proving the haters wrong.

So, buckle up, the Spurs rollercoaster is on another wild ride and it's a journey we wouldn't miss for the world.

Happy New Year.
