Summer Transfer Window Day 17

Summer Transfer Window Day 17

It was Fathers Day recently, I hope you bought a card.

Good morning, if it is morning where you are, and welcome once again to Tottenham Hotspur Blog News (THBN), the common sense blog not for anti-Levy kids.

In Summer Transfer Window Day 17 (is it 17 or have days off made me lose count?) we'll begin with these kids on social media, for some reason they want to knock the club at every opportunity.

We don't sign a player for a week, while others who are behind us in the transfer market do and these people want to impersonate Corporal Jones from Dads Army, "Don't Panic, Don't Panic."

They are just pathetic, the just want people to lead as miserable lives as they lead, drag you down to their level.

Some are even suggesting there is no investment into the club which just demonstrates their intelligence level and total lack of ability to understand the football business and it's many facets.

Will evidence from Companies House do?

As I said at the time, the investment will be converted into shares, the club generates revenue by selling more shares of the club to the current investors.

Spurs Share Issue

As you know from reading this blog, you cut these people out of your lives if you want to be successful and surround yourself with positive, optimistic, knowledgeable and successful people.

Let them fester in their own world.

OK, now the press.

Journalists Information

Spurs are being very tight lipped about transfer business at the moment and are not telling the press anything, be it home or away, so you need to take everything you read with a pinch of salt as it is guessing time for them.

You will see rehashed stories with an element added that they make up, such talks are progressing, things are moving forward or clubs are still apart on valuations, as they are writing about Spence.

Nobody is discussing the Spence deal with the press, we do not come out of a meeting and give the media chapter and verse.

Matt Law, Ally Gold, Dan Kilpatrick, Lyall Thomas etc, all of them are not being given information.

Fabrizio Romano gets his information from agents, not Spurs and generally not Paratici either.

As I have mentioned before, our General Manager of Football talks to fellow Italian Gianluca Di Marzio so listen to what he says.

Tanguy Ndombele

Tanguy Ndombele has obviously been told to find another club and it has been made clear to him he won't get game time for Spurs, if he even gets a squad place.

It is world Cup year and needs to be playing if he is to have any chance of a last minute call up so he should be motivated, as much as he ever can be, to find someone willing to take him.

He is another for whom money is more important that football it would seem so we'll have to see what pay cut he is prepared to take.

His representatives are currently holding talks with Turkish side Galatasaray, who had a disastrous season in 2021/22.

They finished 13th in Super Lig, out of the European slots, which has seen changes to club chairman, Football Team Sporting Director, the Football Team Coach and his assistants.

Clearly they need to rebuild and the tax system is very advantageous to millionaires in Turkey employing locals so there are always legs to these deals financially.

However, Turkey is rather a backwater where people go who can't go to a major league and few of these deals seem to come off.

I don't hold out much hope but at least the opportunity is being explored.

Adrien Rabiot

I have been asked about Adrien Rabiot, who joined Juventus for a fat signing on fee and a fat wage when we were talking to him about coming to Spurs.

If you remember we agreed a loan deal in the January transfer window, only for PSG to then refuse to release him.

Juventus are rebuilding and getting rid of their established high earners, of which Rabiot is one and thus with only a year left on his contract, Juventus are looking to cash him and have made him available.

Juve have offered him for a cheap fee to encourage clubs to take him, but it does mean that he will probably demand an expensive package, as he sees himself as an elite player.

Cody Gakpo

A report has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Leeds United are interested in 23-year-old (24 next May) PSV Eindhoven left winger Cody Gakpo.

The right footer has a contract until 2026 and has been capped 7 times by the Netherlands, scoring 2 goals with 1 assist.

He can play across the front three, the versatility we are looking for to provide cover for our main three, Son, Kane, Kulusevski.

He played 42 games as a left winger (19 goals, 13 assists), 3 games as a centre-forward (1 goal, 1 assist), 1 game as a right-winger (1 assist) and 1 game as an attacking midfielder (1 goal) this season.

From what I understand this is fabrication.

Roger Ibañez

Fabio Paratici is in Italy having lots of meeting for many potential targets and as a part of the Zaniolo discussions with Roma Sporting Director Tiago Pinto, Paratici discussed Roger Ibañez.

Ibañez is a 23-year-old (24 in November) right-footed Brazilian centre-back who played 2 games as a right-back, 1 game as a left-back (1 goal) and 1 game as a right-sided midfielder.

As for Zaniolo, I'll repeat, he wants Juventus, they want him.

Sasa Kalajdzic

Sasa Kalajdzic has been the subject of discussions but the feeling is he will end up across London at West Ham.

The 24-year-old (25 in July) VfB Stuttgart and Austria striker was a possibility for covering for our front three.

Hugo Ekitike

Reims striker Hugo Ekitike is another we have looked at but the 20-year-old (21 next June) is not a top priority and there are plenty of others ahead of him on our list.
