Hollywood calls for Tottenham

Good afternoon once again from Tottenham Hotspur Blog News (THBN).

Innovative as ever, today I thought I'd bring you a Hollywood script.

Well, not actually a script, but the structure of a Hollywood film so that you can think for yourself how our season, or indeed journey, fits into this billion-dollar fantasy world format.

The hero, the villain and we all know who the hatred-hearted will cast in that role, the 'expert' who resurrects our hero to finally win the day and bring a happy ending.

Relating the three-act structure to a season of a football club like Tottenham Hotspur involves looking at the team's journey, challenges, and resolution over the course of the season.

Before you start on that though, your essential reading for the day:

And if yoiu want to understand why any links to Base (agents) should be taken seriously, read this post:

Act 1 - Setup (First Half of the Season):

Introduction of the team, players, and the initial goals for the season.

The club and manger goals are obviously different than fan goals.

The club has to take a longer view and try to fit the short-term fan goal into the long term goal without taking it off course.

The "normal" world is the beginning of the season with a fresh start for all teams.

The inciting incident could be key early matches, transfer activities, or unexpected challenges.

The team establishes its style of play and early league position.

Act 2 - Confrontation (Midseason):

The team faces challenges, competitions, and obstacles such as injuries, tough opponents, or inconsistent performances.

Rising action with various competitions (league, cup matches) and mid-season transfers.

The midpoint could be a crucial match or a significant event that changes the course of the season.

The team's performance in this phase shapes its standing in the league and other competitions.

Act 3 - Resolution (Second Half of the Season):

Intensification of the season's challenges, leading to crucial matches and moments.

The climax is the final push for the league title, securing a European spot, or avoiding relegation.

The resolution involves the team achieving its goals or facing the consequences of falling short.

The season concludes with the final league standings and, if applicable, the team's performance in cup competitions.

Just like in a movie, the resolution in football may not always be a clear victory or success; it could also involve lessons learned, changes in strategy, or plans for the next season.

The emotional journey, ups and downs, and the growth or setbacks of individual players can be compared to character arcs in a narrative.

Keep in mind that this analogy is a creative way to think about a football season and that real-life sports are inherently unpredictable.

Have fun, I'll be intrigued to hear your 'movie script' in relation to Tottenham's season or journey if you'd like to leave a comment with it.

I read them all, unless they are abusive, then I just delete them immediately without reading and move on to the more intelligent fan.
