ITK behind the times

ITK behind the times

Good morning folks, I assume it's a good morning as I'm writing this the night before but the forecast is good!

All the ITK lately seems to be news I have already revealed, weeks, even months ago. Some even from last summer!

Remember the stories of 21-year-old (22 next June) QPR attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze with whom regular readers know we have a verbal agreement with him and QPR to sign him.

Reported both last summer and in January that he'd be arriving this summer, I am know starting to see the occasional tweet about Spurs talking to QPR.

He has been a Spurs choice, a Pochettino choice and Mourinho has come in so has had to decide if he wants him or not but he is one very much still in our thinking.

Then there is a second tweet with ITK on Jeremy Ngakia.

Anyone who read my article 2 weeks ago on 12th June will already know all of this.

Spurs have been following his progress and see him as a back-up right-back who can be developed.

He knows all about our interest, we have spoken with his agent before so this is all rather out of date, but obviously new news to the so-called ITK's reporting it.

The club are trying to offload Kyle Walker-Peters,something we should have done a while ago.

He has been on loan at Southampton but hasn't been starting for them either so if he can't get into their team, then he isn't going to be good enough for a team that wants to be back in the top four.

Now who remembers José Mourinho laughing at Alasdair Gold back in January when he asked about playing Japhet Tanganga with his contract expiring in the summer?

He asked him if he thought he would play him if they weren't having contract discussions?

Mourinho played him because he knew he was staying, not to try to convince him to stay.

Contract negotiations have been going on for months, albeit with a break for Covid-19 when the club shut down, they haven't just opened.

These stories are utter nonsense, they have simply resumed after a break, not started, that's fake news.

Well, well, well, who'd have thought it, even the Spanish are playing catch up with me!

Spanish clubs are far more open with information to the press. For instance, in Valencia, whenever there is a meeting, somebody from that meeting will come out and talk to the few assembled local press.

Rather than get the information after the national press, they get information before the national press, who get it from them.

It is the same as Sky Sports trawling the Internet for stories, using the information they find and calling it Sky Sources to con the public.

Well I wrote about this the other day (3 links below discussing Coutinho) explaining the problem with Tanguy Ndombélé and that we have been discussing options, of which Coutinho was one, with Barcelona, despite other suggesting no such talks have taken place.

They most assuredly have.

Spurs have two offers on the table for Tanguy Ndombélé

Ndombélé is of no use to Spurs unless he changes his attitude. Can José Mourinho get through to him, can he change his attitude?

Ndombélé will have to want to change it and I just don't see that he will while he could move to Barcelona, PSG or Bayern Munich.

I don't see his attitude changing until after the window has shut in October, if he is still here.

Without Ndombélé leaving, then I don't see Coutinho arriving, we would need the Frenchmans wages off the books.

How embarrassingly out of date is this, it's been reported everywhere and and the information is even wrong.

Euros or pounds, 40m would be a problem because they aren't asking for that and nobody would dream of paying that.

No shit Sherlock!

We are not interested in Thiago, he is too old and his wages are double that of Harry Kane. There has never been any potential of a deal just journalists trying to invesnt a transfer story to spin out and get more clicks for their advertisers.

This is exactly what I was saying last summer.

The Argentinian press love him, they see him as a future star for the national team.

The lad has talent, he needs to stay injury free and play. For me he is equally as good bringing the ball out of defence as he is around the opposition penalty box.

We are still getting used to him, he is still getting used to the Premier League and life in London so we haven't seen the best of him by a long chalk yet.

It will be interesting to see how and where we use him in the future when Mourinho has more of his team assembled as opposed to playing with Pochettino's team.

Finally let's end on the utter nonsense that is going round on Twitter.

French newspaper L'Equipe have agendas.

They did it with Lloris when they wanted him out of Spurs, now they are doing the same because another Frenchman isn't playing Tanguy Ndombélé.

Thomas Meunier has joined Borussia Dortmund instead of Spurs because they are virtually guaranteed Champions League football and we are not, indeed we are struggling to make it for next season.

Simply throwing money makes no difference so the story L'Equipe have come up with that Daniel Levy didn't want him is nonsense.

It is their usual unsettling tactics which some of our anti-Levy anti-ENIC agenda driven fans have fallen for.

They want Ndombélé out of Spurs and playing somewhere else, anything they can do to aggravate the situation they will do.

Playing on the hate of some fans is a method to do that, hate mob rule as we are seeing a lot lately.

If you want to keep up to date or ahead of others then keep reading Tottenham Hotspur Blog News (THBN) then you'll see where the press sometimes get their story ideas.
