Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 35

Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 35

Another wonderful sunny day here in the UK, why travel abroad in the summer when you can have a summer here and go abroad to the sun in the spring, autumn or winter?

Never understood why you leave the best of our weather to go in search of the weather!

Anyway, today is Thursday, Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 35 the bulk of which was written between 4-7am with a spot of Welsh Rarebit in homage to Ben Davies (cheese on toast to you heathens) and a cup of Assam tea.

I asked you for questions to ask a player or coach to improve the poor questions we generally get and these were sent in by an anonymous reader.

What do you think, could you improve on them, what do you want to learn from an interview or press conference?
  • What were your reasons for wanting to join the club?
  • Have the club explained what role they expect you to play? - Well I can answer this one for you, yes. Nobody signs for a club without having their role explained and how the manager sees the players development.
I'd rephrase that question to - What role do the club see for you during the upcoming season and how do you see that role developing?
  • As an opposing player, what areas did you see that you felt that Spurs could improve on, to become a better team? - Excellent question, I really like this one.
  • Do you see yourself as having a certain style of play? If so, how do you think you can contribute to the team?
  • What are your goals for the season ahead?
Any more interview questions to ask players or a coach to improve Spurs TV or press conferences? Add them to the comments below.

Spurs TV Incompetent Interviewing

We beat the K-League is a pre-season fitness game 6-3 and Spurs TV interviewed Conte after the game.

I only listened to the first two questions because the pathetic interviewer answered both his question before asking Conte to conform his view basically.

The second question he told Conte what he was looking for in a couple of players and asked Conte to agree!

It is unbelievably pathetic interviewing, this guy should be sacked and replaced with someone competent. The interviewer is the clown we interview for his thoughts on a game on Spurs TV. He is terrible, he drags the whole channel down and has years.

He is the reason I have been writing here on Tottenham Hotspur Blog News (THBN) that we Tottenham fans need upgrades to Spurs TV for years.

The Incompetent THST

I am delighted to see the top two leave their posts at Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust (THST) and hope the new incumbents change the organisations approach and represent all supporters around the world, not just, as they do now, only the fans who attend the stadium.

I find it utterly disgraceful that when they have a survey or seek views, they don't send an email to every supporter group around the world.

You put them all on a mailing llist and one email goes out to everyone with one click. There is no excuse for not seeking everyones views instead of the clique.

Tanguy Ndombele

It is being reported that Frenchman Tanguy Ndombele has agreed a 4-year deal with Italian Champions AC Milan.

No idea if it is true but I hope to god it is as I'm sure we will agree some sort of fee with them simply to get shot of the laziest player I have ever seen since the 60's.

The slower Italian league might suit him but I couldn't care less if he refinds his game, I wouldn't want the guy anywhere near a Spurs shirt and nor it seems does Antonio Conte, having left him out of the pre-season tour and training camp.

Incidentally, on that pre-season training and the reports that the players were forced to run 42 lengths of the football field in 30 degrees heat, that is basically 5K.

Richarlison

Antoni Conte talking about Richarlison: "He plays in all attacking positions. I like him because he's mentally strong. We need these kinds of players."

Now how many years have I been explaining the difference between a winning mentality and and the rest.

Would you put Tanguy Ndombele in the strong mentality section, in the winning mentality section, NO.

He downed tools for Tottenham because everything wasn'y on his terms, that sound familiar!

I have insisted we must build a squad with as many winning mentalities as we can and as you can see it is important to a serial winner too, that's because he has a winning mentality himself, other managers don't.

They are not all equal, just as two players with the same as two identical footballers are not the same.

One will have a decent career, one will take his game to the next level and win bucket loads of trophies.

One is happy being the big fish in a little pond, one wants challenges, wants to surround themselves with other winning mentalities and positive people.

There are lessons for our fans to learn from this manager, but for most it will go over their heads.

Djed Spence

Have you noticed the reported fee for Djed Spence is £18m, the exact figure I told you we would pay if Nottingham Forest won the Championship play-off final.

What an amazing coincidence!

I tell you, as they don't know what's going on the press do write some utter rubbish.

Middlesbrough are on a training camp in Portugal and Spence has been left out of the squad. That tells you all you need to know.

Gianni Vio

I reported it a while back and now it has been made official, the 'Idle Ball Wizard' has joined Tottenham Hotspur.

He is the set-piece coach who master-minded drills for the Italian national team on their march to European Championship glory under Roberto Mancini.

This is just another example that a winning mentality looks at every detail and seeks improvement in every detail to improve the whole.

It is something I have written about for years again, particularly in respect of our throw-ins, which must be some of the worst in the Premier League.

I'd still like to see us introduce 'vision training' or 'mental awareness training' for every player.

This means a player constantly looking round to imprint of their brain where his teammates are, where the opposition are and thus what passes he has on should he receive the ball.

It also tells him therefore what body shape and position to form when a pass to him is made.

It makes it appear as if a player more time, deep-lying playmaker Pirlo for Italy was a prime example of this in action.

It will be very interesting to see what impact Vio has this season because let's face it, our free-kicks and corners are rather unproductive.

Japhet Tanganga

There is plenty of interest in homegrown and English association trained Japhet Tanganga, not that that last fact mattes if he joins a club who are not in Europe.

For an explanation of the effects of homegrown, non-homegrown read Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 34 which will open in a new window.

Bournemouth, Newcastle United, Brentford, Everton, and from Italy where clubs are struggling financially, Napoli and AC Milan are just some of his suitors.

Reports from Italy are that terms have been agreed between Tanganga's representative and AC Milan, but that iis a common occurrence and doesn't guarantee a signing.

The two clubs haven't agreed anything as yet and it would be a loan move for a season.

Newcastle United have offered a loan deal with an obligation to buy and reports from Italy suggest Tanganga has turned down Bournemouth, presumably because he could see them fighting relegation and possibly going back down to the Championship.

That isn't something he would want to toy wwith.

PSG 11 Players For Sale

With a new manager after the French club and Mauricio Pochettino parted ways, French daily newspaper Le Parisien report that PSG have put 11 players up for sale.

  1. Layvin Kurzawa 29-year-old left-back
  2. Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe 21-year-old central-midfielder
  3. Abdou Diallo 26-year-old centre-back
  4. Idrissa Gueye 32-year-old central-midfielder
  5. Thilo Kehrer 25-year-old centre-back
  6. Julian Draxler 28-year-old attacking-midfielder
  7. Leandro Paredes 28-year-old defensive midfielder
  8. Mauro Icardi 29-year-old striker
  9. Danilo Pereira 30-year-old defensive-midfielder
  10. Ander Herrera 32-year-old central-midfielder
  11. Georginio Wijnaldum 31-year-old central-midfielder

Happy Conte

I will repeat it again for George and his cronies who are desperately seeking any negative they can invent to justify their existence.

Antonio Conte is EXTREMELY happy with all Spurs signings, is extremely happy with Spurs Summer Transfer Window, is extremely happy with Daniel Levy and extremely happy at Tottenham.
