Asensio and Isco

Asensio and Isco

Isco-and-Asensio

When Real Madrid made informal enquiries about Christian Eriksen, Tottenham already knew he wanted to leave to join Real Madrid, he had told Mauricio Pochettino at the start of the season.

Daniel Levy responded by saying Tottenham would want either Isco or Marco Asensio in any deal. Real Madrid indicated at that time that Isco was a possibility.

Since then the season has finished and Zinedine Zidane has outlined his plans to Florentino Perez on his return to the club as Head Coach.

I have told you from the start that Zidane wants Pogba over Eriksen and feels he can adapt to his requirements but Peres is a big fan of Eriksen and wants him at the club.

Real Madrid have offered €90m £80.14m - $100.85m) for Pogba whereas Manchester United want €160m (£142.47m - $179.29m), proof that every club operates in the same way Spurs do, put in a low offer to bring an asking price down and negotiate from there.

Until Zinedine Zidane analysed who he wants, who he can afford to let go and who he will sacrifice to raise money for purchases, Marco Asensio has been unsaleable, but now it appears Real Madrid will listen to offers of €90m - €100m (£80.14m/£89.05m - $100.85m/$112.05m).

Asensio will struggle for game time with Hazard playing in his position, plus Brahim, rising star Vinicius and Lucas Vázquez (Who Zidane trusts, unlike Bale) at the club.

Indications in Spain are that Isco would cost around €80m (£71.42m - $89.69m) but he is no spring chicken anymore, he 27 years old (28 next April) so how many years until he would have to be replaced and what fee could we command for him?

Like it or not they are both factors that clubs look for now.

With regard to Ceballos, I have never actually seen anything that suggests we actually want him, only that he wants to play football and thus is available for sale. It seems to me that the press has simply put two and two together at this stage.
