Okay-Yokuşlu

Tottenham have been following the progress of Okay Yokuşlu, who is a Turkish professional footballer plays for Spanish LaLiga club RC Celta de Vigo according to the Turkish sources.

Born in, Konak, Izmir, Turkey, Yokuşlu has 21 full international caps, scoring one goal and has represented Turkey at Under-15, 16, 17, 19, 20 and Under-21 levels.

In 32 appearances this season, the defensive midfielder scored two goals. He joined Celta Vigo from Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor, who are located in the city of Trabzon, for £5.3 million (€6m) last summer with a contract until 2023.

He flies under the radar but is a hardworking player and has good technical, passing and dribbling ability for a tall man, he stands 1.91m (6ft 3in) tall. He won the Player of the Month awards in January and February to help Celta Vigo avoid relegation and has come to the attention of West Ham United, Everton and Newcastle United as well.

The originating source of talk of Spurs interest comes from someone close links to the player's official website.

The very latest in the Turkish press is that Galatasaray wants to bring him back to Turkey and that talks will take place in the next few days. The player himself says he is in favour of returning to Turkey.
