Vincent Janssen, as we know, has undergone his medical and has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with a two-year extension option. You can wait with bated breath as he is due to be announced today.

His arrival means he will be with us for the pre-season tournament in Australia and our friendly against Inter Milan in Scandinavia. With the players due back from their holidays after the European Championships, except Hugo, he can start to gel with our happy band. There is a lot of adjustment for him to do, his training for instance, will go to a different level under Pochettino, he won't quite know what's hit him to start.

From there he has to learn the team system and his potential role(s) within that system. He has to learn his team mates roles and equally our existing players have to attune themselves to his vision, his pace, his anticipation and thinking. He has shown he can adjust at each level so far and Pochettino usually likes new signings to ease their way in, frequently they are at the club a month before we see them.

The anticipation of many to see him is high.
