Potential Paulinho replacement

There are reports suggesting that Tottenham are possibly lining up N'Golo Kanté as a replacement for Benjamin Stambouli but they play in different positions.

While N'Golo Kanté can play as the defensive minded defensive midfielder like Nabil Bentaleb his primary position is the player with more attacking licence, the role Ryan Mason, Paulinho and Mousa Dembélé perform. Of those three Paulinho is the man Mauricio Pochettino is looking to replace.

Marseilles, Arsenal, Newcastle United, who have tracked him for a couple of years now and Southampton are also interested in the SM Caen 24-year-old midfielder, while Spurs are watching the situation. At 1.69m (5ft 7in) he is weak in the air but gets into the opposition penalty box and likes a tackle.

He seems to be one on the list but not at the top of it and looks a more likely signing for Marseilles, if they can't get their first choice Stambouli or Newcastle United, who are very keen on him.
