Inter sack Frank de Boer

Many Tottenham fans had him as first choice for Tottenham head coach. I did until I delved into Mauricio Pochettino rather than taking the face value of everything. He then looked the right man for the job and so it has proved. We have taken strides forward and no doubt we will take more.

Frank de Boer was snapped up by Inter Milan at the beginning of August, by the beginning of November he has been sacked, deemed unable to turn the sides slump he has overseen around. There have been rumours he had lost the dressing room, or at least some of the players and their performances have been erratic, even during the same game.

At the weekend he said his side only played for 45 minutes and they had to sort out their mentality. The Dutchman will be temporarily replaced by the Under-21 coach Stefano Vecchi. he has taken over directing today's training session. His first game in charge is the crucial UEFA Europa League clash away against Pochettino's former side Southampton.

They are both in Group K where Inter sit bottom of the table with 3 points from 3 games, Southampton sit second with 4 points from 3 games. The leaders, Sparta Prague, have 6 points from 3 games and the group is finished by Israeli side Hapoel Beer-Shiva who sit third with 4 points.
