SCOUTING TALK

having looked at the French third division and at strikers all around the world Tottenham are keeping an eye on a player closer to home, in London in fact.

Francis Baptiste is a Crystal Palace Under-18 striker and he scored 5 goals, 4 goals in 41 minutes in Palace's 7-0 win away to Barnsley. Boss Ken Gillard gave him his debut in January but has been banging in the goals.

In August Matt Woosnam from News Online reported our interest in the 16-year-old following a Tweet he made.

"Amid the interest from Spurs, Baptiste is yet to feature for Palace this season, and was not even named on the bench for the opening day victory over Sheffield Wednesday. He has been offered a scholarship but it is unclear whether he has penned the deal on the table to him.
"The striker notched a hat-trick in the knockout stages of the Calcutta tournament, and appears to have caught the eye of watching scouts in the U16 campaign last season."
