Kane scan to decide when a nervous Janssen plays

There seems to be a lot of panic among websites over the Harry Kane injury because he left the stadium wearing a plastic boot but that is just a precautionary measure to protect the ankle.

It was clear he twisted his ankle, it could be a sprain, it could be that he has torn ligaments, which would keep him out for longer.

His replacement Vincent Janssen is having to handle the pressure of stepping up to the Premier League and at the moment he is snatching at his chances. Today he could and should have rolled in Lamela but chose to try and simply blast the ball instead, then watched as it went high and way wide.

Fortunately the next game is against Gillingham in the League Cup, a game you would hope he could bag a goal to settle himself down. Will Pochettino play him to do just that or, depending upon th results of Harry Kane's scan, will he save him for the next Premier League game and UEFA Champions League tie?

Shayon Harrison may get some game time now against Gillingham, but there will be a real temptation to play Janssen with fingers crossed he scores.
