His wife and agent say he is for sale and Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio, says he isn't for sale. Mauro Icardi is only for sale if there is no other way to raise money and as there has been a takeover at Inter the longer term picture has changed, short term they are restricted by Financial Fair Play rules.

Whether he is for sale or isn't doesn't really matter because despite what our press would have you believe he isn't a target. In our case there isn't a place for him in the squad and there hasn't been. From Inter captain to second string striker, never a chance.

“Icardi renewed a year ago, he’s our captain and as far as we’re concerned he’s not for sale. In addition to Icardi there are 10-11 players who are unsellable and who we’re focusing on. We need to add something, but we’re talking about two or three players, no more.”
