A return to the Champions League kit

As ever a lot of speculation over kits with people releasing images to get hits to their advertising horse, as many NewsNow websites seem to be now. I detest auto play videos and having to sift through advert after advert just to get to the page.

Anyway back on topic, ktis, a new one is supposedly for sale in a store in Australia. This would make sense given that we are going to release it before the Australia tournament this summer.

The general opinion seems to be that it is awful and that's my opinion too, mind you  I thought last seasons was awful but it soon grew on me. There are still plenty of people getting in a hissy fit over the red AIA sponsorship. I have to say I hardly noticed it when we were playing. If red is their brand colour then red it has to be.

The shirt looks OK from the back and is similar to the kits of 2010/11 when we had Rafael van der Vaart, Gareth Bale, Heurelho Gomes, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Wilson Palacios, William Gallas, Luka Modrić, Peter Crouch, Sandro, Benoît Assou-Ekotto and Aaron Lennon in our ranks under the management of Harry Redknapp.

That is of course the season we were in the UEFA Champions League winning our group against Werder Bremen (Germany), Inter Milan (Italy) and Twente (Holland) before defeating AC Milan in the Round of 16 finally ending our journey at the hand of the Gary Lineker dran Real madrid. You did us no favours there Gary. A 1-0 defeat away from home gave us a chance, Peter Crouch decided to take that away from us by getting himself sent off.

We'll have to see whether it is going to be a golden season to match the shirt.
