Tottenham has been scouting 18-year-old (19 next July) Guinean midfielder Amadou Diawara who is also attracting interest from the top clubs in Italy plus Chelsea and Manchester City.

His Italian side Bologna would like to tie him down to a new contract after an impressive first half to his debut season. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport recently, he indicated he is keen to stay at Bologna. They will be discussing an improved contract during the winter break.

Chelsea are reported to have made offers up to £14.76-million (US$21.95m - AUS$30.11m - €20m) which have been turned down by Bologna. Manchester City are said to have had made similar offers which also have been turned down. Schalke had a bid of £9.60-million (US$14.22m - AUS$19.52m - €13m) turned down also.

His agent, Robert Visan, has confirmed to Corriere di Bologna that Tottenham are among the clubs watching his client.

"There  is a big interest of Chelsea. I work with Pini Zahavi, as everyone knows, but that does not mean it will end with the Blues. Please also to Manchester City and Tottenham, Juventus follows. But with them we never talked offers only  soccer."
