Manchester City Clearance & Sales section

It wouldn't be a transfer window if we didn't look at Manchester City and see who they have sitting on the bench or hardly ever in the team we could buy.

Manchester City Clearance & Sales section

Having got pert-time dud, part-time star Emmanuel Adebayor from them we have been casting glances their way. Micah Richards is way over priced at £15 million (€18.82m) for a player who basically hasn't played in 2 years.

That however indicates Manchester City, They now do a Chelsea, buy everyone up at inflated fees, and yes I know Richards is homegrown and through the ranks, don't play them and then expect all and sundry to buy them at these false prices.

Esteban Cambiasso or Gareth Barry? Thanks I'll take the Argentinian.

James Milner, famous for doing more defending then attacking so much so that Roy Hodgson plays him as a right-back, was bought for £10 million (€12.54m) more than he was worth and now is the wrong age at 28 to buy, besides we have Aaron Lennon who is a better defender than Milner.

Joleon Lescott has left for pastures new having enjoyed a profitable time sat in a deck chair for the majority of his spell in Manchester recently. A stop gap consideration but the Midlands it is for him.

Jack Rodwell ruined a promising career by leaving Everton and joining the City, quite what he expected to do there is anyone's guess, he certainly couldn't have been expecting to play football. Bought in 2012 for £12 million (€15.05m) he has played 7 times!

Everton and WBA are now said to be chasing the 23 year-old who has seen Man City already sign a replacement for him.

Eden Dzeko we have always looked at but not at the prices Man city expect and the latest forward to be bought and possibly thrown away is Álvaro Negredo. We sniffed around last summer before settling on Soldado and have kept an eye on the Spaniards exploits, if exploits they can be called, last term.

It was not a good one for the 28 year-old, he scored only 9 goals in 21 games and went through a long barren spell, as well as missing out of the Spanish World Cup squad. He will be 29 in August so only has a 2 years in him until his price tag goes into a downward spiral.

From a business point of view a £20 million (€25.09m) buy would make little sense now, from a football point of view should we be interested in another Spanish striker who has barren spells in front of goal.

I googled Man City sale and and the top result was Manchester City Clearance & Sales section, I though I'd found their summer transfer department for a moment.
