Ceballos Not Flying Out With Real Madrid On US Tour

Ceballos not flying out on US tour and striker Mariano plus cash for Eriksen?

Ceballos-and-Mariano
Ceballos and Mariano are wanted by Spurs

The Christian Eriksen situation is that he wants to leave, He has handed in a transfer request and has told the club he will not be signing the new contract that has been offered to him.

He told Mauricio Pochettino before the start of the season that he wanted to leave, already obviously knowing that Real Madrid wanted him. I don't blame any player who wants to go and play for the biggest name in the sport.

Daniel Levy is trying to solve some problems with the sale though.

Mauricio Pochettino likes Dani Ceballos, indeed we inquired after him last summer but he didn't want to leave Madrid, he still doesn't but understands he will not get the game time he is after under Zinedine Zidane.

He has several offers obviously but Spurs does interest him, he is keen on joining the club. he wants assurances that he is going to get plenty of game time as he wants to play in the 2020 World Cup.

Daniel Levy wants an initial loan with a set fee purchase option so if he adapts to the Premier League we have a player we are prepared to spend around £40 million on after he has proved himself with us.

The one thing we do not want in the deal is a buyback clause, the cause that Real Madrid put in all deals so they can buy a player back if he proves himself at a pre-set transfer fee.

Real Madrid wants this resolved quickly, Tottenham want it resolved quickly and Ceballos is not flying out on Tuesday with Real Madrid as they start an American tour.

Daniel Levy is also trying to get young striker Mariano Diaz included in the deal, again on an initial loan with an option to buy and again if he proves himself with us.

The 25-year-old (26 in August) wants to play in the 2020 World Cup too and needs a lot more football than he is going to get at Real Madrid.

On 1 July 2017, Mariano moved to Lyon for €8m (£7.18m - $8.99m) and the Spanish side brought him back for €21.5m (£19.28m - $24.15m) thanks to their buy-back clause.

While in Ligue 1 he played 37 games scoring 18 goals and having a further 5 assists in 2,661 minutes (equivalent to 29.57 full games).

Mariano can play as a striker, a second striker or as a wide attacker so has the versatility to cover several positions, understand several roles and play in different systems.

Daniel Levy is trying to get both Ceballos and Mariano included in a deal plus cash for Christian Eriksen.

Fingers crossed.
