Pochettino Not Interested In Zaha Anymore

Wilfried-Zaha

It was very interesting to hear that Pochettino doesn't want Wilfried Zaha anymore. He apparently thinks the for convenience Ivorian international has reached his level.

Regular readers will know I have been saying for a couple of years now that the former England winger simply isn't good enough for Spurs.

Crucially, he doesn't have the right mentality to be a top player. He goes to sleep off the ball and is, therefore, a defensive liability.

He is also the wrong age for us now being a 26-year-old (37 in November). He doesn't have enough years left and would need replacing in three years when he is about to hit 30 or his value would start sinking.

Clint Dempsey used to do Gareth Bale's defensive work for us and took a lot of unnecessary stick for not being the attacking force as a result. Another example of fans not really understanding what is happening on a football field.

Wilfried Zaha is no Gareth Bale and we play a system where all eleven have a role defensively, a half-hearted Zaha isn't going to fit into that system.

We saw the same problem with Andros Townsend who was more interested in himself than the team. I wrote about his mentality before we got shot of him too. It is so vital in football and not enough note is taken of it.

We need players with the mentality and professionalism that Harry Kane has, that's the level we need to be aiming for.
