Everton game shows Levy is right over N'Koudou

The performance of Kane and the European Championship players rather backs up the point I was making about Georges-Kevin N'Koudou being unfit and in effect faulty goods. A comment asked on an article about this point asked whether Harry Kane was faulty goods having had only 2 weeks training.

Well, the performance of Kane and the Euros boys against Everton answered that question. Until they are properly match fit then yes they are in effect faulty goods. They are not operating to their maximum, they are being eased into match fitness with playing time. You'll remember after the European Under-21 Championships last summer Kane was off colour at the start of last season.

N'Koudou, using Kane as a guideline, would need at least 3 weeks to get fit fir the season if he were signed now. He isn't, therefore, worth his maximum price of £11.11-million and we are doing the right thing offering half that amount, whether Mitchell like it or not.

Eric Dier came off for that reason, not because he was worse than Wanyama, he wasn't, he was performing to the standard we need, but he could only do it for an hour, not 90 minutes.

Hugo Lloris pulled a hamstring. That could have happened at any time but muscle injuries occur more frequently when a player is fatigued, that's why we manage game time. We have a medical team who assess when a player is likely to have an injury and we give them a rest until they come out of the danger one, then they get put back in the firing line.

Every player is different. On one we need to get players up to speed and on the other hand we need people like Vincent Janssen playing to give us the energy and sharpness others are missing. It is a balancing act and during it, you hope to win games, we drew.

  1. Whose fault is it that Spurs sign players we desperately need very late? This player did his medical over 3 weeks ago and cos of Levy and his way of doing business to the detriment of the team, we have such a position. Levy is all about profit and no ambition
    • Agreed. Levy needs to consider the needs of the club. If N Koudu had been here 3 weeks ago, surely he would have been match fit by the time of the kick off of the epl. Levy needs to be a bit more rational and balanced.

  5. Levy is too business minded and needs to respect the fans and football side. I've heard Poch say many times, he would like all transfer business done early for a full pre-season.
  6. I thought the deal didn't go through, beacuse Marseille changed presidents and the new board wanted to review the terms of the deal? Or am i wrong?
  7. No Diego. You're not wrong. It's simply that there are a number of fans who've got it into their heads that Levy is 'bad' and so everything has to be forced into that way of thinking of things, regardless of any inconvenient facts.

    The deal was, indeed, held up by Marseille not being prepared to sanction it until they had THEIR ducks all in a row. At least that's what's generally agreed by everyone I read EXCEPT the anti-Levy lobby.

    Don't expect that to stop people from saying that Levy is unique in trying to make arrangements solely to suit his own club/business though. I've seen that in the same post as people complaining about this very deal which is itself evidence of the error of such a claim.

Unfortunately too many fans are happy with this 5 year plan lasting 15 years, cause they are happy supporting a club which is going to win SHIT and make apologies for the c##t Levi, cause we get a taste of champions league every now and again.

  10. So, I suspect we're doing pretty well with Levy at the helm AND a team of mostly kids then? Excellent. COYS!!

    And this at a time when the money available to other clubs has increased enormously to leave the potential for winning the league by any of the poorer sides reduced by a long way. It's so reassuring to be in this position now inspite of the Levy and kids things.
