Agents fees & Javier Hernandez £125,000-a-week

It's not just football players who want to make money out of the Premier League teams. When a club from the Premier League makes an inquiry to an agent, a players wages shoot up so they can easily price themselves out of a move.

Just as a club should not pay over the odds for a player, neither should they simply give in to extortionate wage demands either. A lawyer who writes about the legal and financial of the game reveals just how much the agents themselves have made so far this window, quite a tidy amount.

Agent fees paid by clubs this transfer window (as of 29 July) England: £22.9m Italy: £14.8m Spain: £7.8m Germany: £7.1m France: £566k

He also reveals that MLS have offered Javier Hernandez £125,000-a-week, if we were interested in him we would want to be offering half that amount. The press have consistently linked us because they determine we need a striker and he is one, but everything I have heard suggests he is not what we are looking for. If they are the sort of wages he wants I'm not surprised.
