Postecoglou emulating Bill Nicholson
Tottenham Hotspur semi-finalists in the UEFA Europa League |
Well, the baying mob have been proven wrong again.
The recent X (formerly Twitter) poll showed 75% losing mentalities...
And 25% winning mentalities.
The head coach...
Who apparently doesn't know what he is doing...
According to the deserters...
Has taken us to two semi-finals...
In the same season...
For the first time since the great Bill Nicholson did in 1971-72!
Then we won the UEFA Cup...
Beating Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final...
And were knocked out by Chelsea in the EFL Cup.
Still, our supporters know better...
Don't they!
You watch TV...
Does that make you an expert actor?
Does it make you an expert actor?
Perhaps an expert in direction?
No.
Then watching football doesn't make you an expert at the game...
Or business then...
Does it.
Proper supporters support.
Winning mentalities remain positive...
They look for the positives...
And the positive right now id than the deserters...
Could rejoin the ranks of the supporters...
A semi-finals against the surprise team in this years competition FK Bodø/Glim...
Who are second in the Norwegian Eliteserien.
It's great to be behind the boys all the way...
The deseters will be sick...
It's their worst nightmare.
Can their egos take it!
Afterall...
It would be hypocrisy if they celebrated!
Proper supporters support
Not part-time for 90 minutes...
Not for 1% of the week.
Two semi-finals in the same season...
For the first time in 53 years...
Well done Daniel Levy...
It shows Spurs are on the right track.
If you are going to knock him for everything...
Then you must praise him for everything too...
Otherwise, it's hypocrisy.
The deciding incident?
I thought the Harald Schumacher challenge had been outlawed.
Fot those of you too young to remember...
He was the German goalkeeper who wiped out a Frenchman...
With a grotesque star jump challenge...
Getting nowhere near the ball.
He should have been sent off but remarkable the ref was happy with it.
The infamous 1982 World Cup incident...
Are supposed to be penalized more strictly under modern football laws.
However...
Again, a referee doesn't even give a free-kick for serious foul play.
VAR had to tell him it was a penalty...
And the keeper should have been given a red card.
He could have broken James Maddison's neck.
It was totally irresponsible of the referee.
He bottled the big decision.
Ange didn't.
When Spurs were awarded a penalty, Mattys Tel was going to take it...
But big Ange sent out a message that Dom Solanke was to take it.
It took nerve, but...
Solanke, with his first goal in 12 games, put us through...
But in fairness, our head coach...
And all the players put us through.
Heroes one and all.

Last night saw a collective unity in a hostile environment showcasing the mentality needed to beat a competitive opponent.
The team gave everything starting at the front with Dom Solanke’s exceptional work rate matched by the midfield press and defensive solidity. Not forgetting Maddison’s bravery.
Yes we were tested and like all teams and rode our luck at times but there was no spursy collapse under their pressure.
To see the joy on both the fans and players/Ange’s faces after the game was fantastic.
The player/manager hugs after the game were genuine togetherness from a team that has had to suffer the insults of mindless so called fans.
A fantastic night which all true fans should relish and enjoy.

I’m so happy you write such brilliant articles because it shows we do have some fans to be proud of by comments like Bruce’s. I can comb the internet and find moronic comments; let’s determine to keep the focus on the positives
Regards, Andy McCarthy
It was frustrating to see we still convert such a small number of our chances, but let's not forget the game Kristensen had for them. Three strong opportunities for him, as well as others less strong, but he fluffed them all under the pressure. Such 'bad luck' is certainly not unique to our youngsters.

Where he outdid himself for me though, was when he waved for play to continue after Romero's late (in both senses) challenge and then after a full ten seconds, after Frankfurt had taken the ball past a couple of defenders and only eventually got tackled, he went back and awarded the free kick as well. That's just plain against the laws of the game. He made it up on the spot to help.

But another semi-final in 2025! All with probably record levels of injuries & a young squad who are barely out of nappies. I really think things are looking up for Spurs - as long as those dopey whingers don't muck it all up with their incessant whining.
