Tottenham Transfer Talk Juventus
Hello once again. Fingers crossed my health is a little more under control and no more collapsing, so if anyone out there has got diabetes, take it very seriously because it can go pear-shaped very quickly.
Today we;ll have some Tottenham Transfer Talk for you, firstly involving Juventus.
Before that though you can catch up with Brennan Johnson's injury and Tottenham scouting Antonio Nusa.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg's agent in flying to Turin to speak to Juventus.
This is reported by Corriere dello Sport, who I'm sure you'll all know is a daily paper in Italy.
Paul Pogba is facing a doping ban, he is currently awaiting the results of a second sample test having failed the first. A lengthy ban could ensue and Juventus will need a replacement.
With the Danish international not a central figure at Spurs anymore Spurs will be happy to let him leave for the right fee, which is around £26 million (€30m), a figure the Italians feel is high.
Juventus are looking at an initial loan deal in January, but Tottenham want an outright sale. Naturally the second option would be a loan with obligation, not option, to buy.
Other options include Manu Koné (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Youssouf Fofana (Monaco), Khephren Thuram (Nice) and Habib Diarra (Strasbourg).
Højbjerg, who has a contract at Tottenham until 2025, is the first choice right now.
Juventus will know Pogba's result in 7 days I believe. He is already suspended by the Serie A side and his salary been stopped.
Ivan Perišić
Tottenham have a very good history with Croatian players, Luka Modrić, Vedran Ćorluka, Niko Kranjčar, Stipe Pletikosa and Ivan Perišić.
You all know that Tottenham have signed another, the 16-year-old beast of a centre-back that every top club was after, Luka Vušković from HNK Hajduk Split.
Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti report that it took 6 months of negotiations between the two sides to agree a deal which included Ivan Perišić returning to the club he left in 2006 in January.
The Croatian winger was successfully operated on in Innsbruck, Austria on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in his right knee in training. I believe he is returning to London at the beginning of next week.
Saša Janković, a doctor from the Croatian Football Federation, told Dnevnik.hr that:
“50 percent is the surgical procedure, and 50 percent is the rehabilitation process. In the initial phase, he can put weight on his leg. In 3 to 4 weeks, he can start cycling, and in 3 months, he can begin running.
“The challenge is that contact with opposing players won’t be possible for a longer period. He’s an experienced player with a long football career, so we can expect him to be in top form.”
Giovanni Lo Celso
Gio is once again injured of course, working his way back to fitness but is already being speculated by the media in Italy and Spain that he could leave Spurs in January.
Tottenham were asking for €25m (£21.65m) for him in the summer but the Spanish are only speculating when they say he'll cost €15m (£13m) in January.
Lo Celso, who is under contract until 2025, will see how much game time he gets until the January transfer window before making a decision on whether to leave or not.
