Real Madrid key to Spurs Fernandes pursuit

Typical Portuguese press.

He's about to join Manchester City, he's about to join Manchester United, Liverpool to hijack United bid, he's about to join Tottenham Hotspur.

You can't believe a word the Portuguese press write.

Who are we talking about? Portugal and Sporting attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes

The 24-year-old (25 in September) has 12 full international caps and one goal. In 53 games he has scored 32 goals and had 18 assists, impressive stats.

You'll have read that United have offered €12m (£10.68m) more than Spurs, €10m (£8.9m) of that as add-ons.

The speculation is because Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane wants Paul Pogba but president Florentino Perez prefers Christian Eriksen. The Portuguese press believes both transfers are imminent, thus Fernandes transfer must be imminent to one of them.

A Bola goes the Pogba route, Record goes the Tottenham route.

According to Eriksen himself, Real Madrid have not phoned Tottenham yet to tell them they want him so it's a question of waiting to see who wins, Perez or Zidane.
