A satisfactory training exercise

In our first pre-season game behind closed doors, against Championship side Nottingham Forest, Spurs came out on top 3-0. The game is not about though but about starting to get players fit and prepared for the new season.

Son Heung-min, who will miss the start of the season due to his participation in the Olympic games for South Korea, opened the scoring after only a couple of minutes. After 5 minutes Spurs were two up when Development Squad player Luke Amos crossed for Tom Carroll to score. The fact that Carroll is playing for Spurs after the end of his contract must means the club had an optional year and have evoked it, unless I have missed him signing a new contract. As ever with Tom, everything is understated.

Alex Pritchard scored the third, smashing home a Nabil Bentaleb pass. New signing Victor Wanyama started in the Eric Dier role while Ryan Mason started alongside him in the Mousa Dembele role.

Feels nice to be back on the pitch again
