Spurs maintain an interest in Brazilian striker Pato

Tottenham were interested in Alexandre Pato during the summer as were clubs in Germany. It is reported in Brazil that Corinthians are waiting for an offer and are desperate to sell the striker who is currently on loan at Sao Paolo until the end of the year.
The Corinthians board believe that two clubs will submit proposals in January: Schalke 04 and Tottenham while the press think Borussia Dortmund will make an offer too. Brazilian outlet Band (satellite and cable television news company) say Dortmund are willing to offer £7.41-million (US$11.36m - AUS$15.51m - €10m).
Corinthians own 60% of the economic rights of Pato and he owns the other 40% himself. Gilmar Veloz entrepreneurs and Giuliano Bertolucci are responsible for negotiating for Pato and Bertolucci flew to London during the summer window as part of his search for a new club. Tottenham has negotiated directly with Corinthians, but talks did not advance when Corinthians were insisting on £7.41-million

While the TV news channel suggest Dortmund are willing to pay that figure while other reports suggest Corinthians are now considering lowering that price to £5.93-million (US$9.09m - AUS$12.40m - €8m).

Pato recently revealed that there was a proposal from Manchester United just two hours before the end of the summer transfer window. Will they go back? He has been overlooked for the Brazil national squad with coach Dunga suggesting that as he plays on the wing he wasn't what Brazil needed. He can and does play central, he has started most games centrally and scored 13 goals with 7 assists.
