Moutinho linked to Spurs again

French side AS Monaco have been reported as pushing João Moutinho out of the club for financial reasons according to reports in France and yes we have been linked again.

His £2.82 million (US$4.40m - AUS$5.91m - €4m) salary is now considered to be high in the current financial climate, it equates to £54,230-a-week (US$84,778 - AUS$113,783 - €77,021) and is said to be three times the ceiling Monaco are trying to put in place.

Moutinho was signed when the club had more money and now have to cut their cloth accordingly so have been trying to offload all their big earners, Radamel Falcao has already had one loan spell at Manchester United and now has another, this time at Chelsea.

Obviously Tottenham have been linked with the 28-year-old (29 September) and there are rumours of a big name being lined up for close to the end of the window. He has a contract until 2018 and will surely now be cheaper than he was before, transfermarkt suggest he was worth £21 million (US$32.83m - AUS$44.08m - €29.82m) in 2013 and is now worth £14 million (US$21.89m - AUS$29.39m - €19.88m).
