Growing interest in young striker

With the summer transfer window closed and one area of the squad dealt with Tottenham continue to monitor players who may in future resolve others.

Arsenal are now taking an interest in 18-year-old (19 next February) Swiss international Breel Embolo who came on against England at Wembley today. He has been on form for Swiss Super League side FC Basel and has been attracting interest from West Ham, WBA and Aston Villa.

This season he has started well, scoring 3 goals with 2 assists in 9 games. His 5 league games have seen him score 2 with 2 assists, a goal every 225 minutes and a hand in a goal every 112 minutes. In 4 UEFA Champions League qualifiers,  he has 1 goal in 260 minutes.  Last season, he scored 17 and had 13 assists in 42 games.

Mario Balotelli is one of his footballing heroes, hardly the sort of role model to follow, fortunately, he works a lot harder and has a better attitude. He is interesting clubs because he has physicality, pace and composure in front of the goal combined with close control and dribbling ability all in a frame just over 6ft (1.84m).

He is a promising talent and one we'll continue to keep an eye on.
