17 goals in 30 games

Plenty of speculation that we could offer Roberto Soldado to Borussia Dortmund to help to secure Sven bender yet very little speculation that we could offer Soldado to Villarreal for their centre-forward.
Tottenham have scouted 23-year-old (24 in April) Gerard Moreno Balagueró, commonly known as Gerard. The Spaniard came through the youth ranks at Villarreal and has only played 26 La Liga games, however, he has scored 7 goals in them and has 3 assists to his name. In terms of minutes, he has played 1,617, the equivalent to 17.96 games. That's a goal every 231 minutes and a hand in a goal every 162 minutes.
In addition, he has 6 goals in 7 Copa del Rey games (562 minutes/6.24 games) and 4 goals in 7 UEFA Europa League games (494 minutes/5.48 games). In top flight football that is 17 goals in 40 games (5 assists). BHe has played 2,673 minutes the equivalent of just 29.7 games, a goal every 157 minutes and a hand in a goal every 121 minutes.
His impressive strike rate has caught the attention of Arsenal who are watching his development as are we with his contract running out next summer. Gerard shows great potential and has a buyout clause in his contract of just £3 million (US$4.67m - AUS$16.4m - €4.21m), he could be a better option than Saido Berahino at the £25 million (US$38.95m - AUS$53.8m - €35.08m) WBA said to be demanding. They are similar in stature Gerard 1.77m (5ft 9in) and 21-year-old Berahino 1.80m (5ft 10in).
Michu was a completely unknown striker in this country when Swansea City snapped him up and he banged in the goals before a move to Italy, it's not always household names that can produce the goods.
Following on from my article on Soldado being more likely to go to Villarreal than Sevilla, a Spanish press outlet is saying the same thing but I'll bring you that article later.
A new four-part series begins tonight (9pm GMT), a Mauricio Pochettino interview given to a Spanish radio station.
Further Tottenham Reading
A motivated team is a successful team
Villarreal not Sevilla remain strong favourites for Soldado signature
