Sunday 24th August 2014
Kick-off: 13:30
English Premier League (EPL)
Stadium: White Hart Lane, London

Referee: Anthony Taylor
Managers: Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham), Harry Redknapp (QPR)
Head-to-head league record: Tottenham wins 18, draws 15, QPR wins 13

There are unlikely to be any surprises with team selection given that 5 players were left behind from the trip to Cyprus. It should be safe to assume they will be playing on Sunday, given they were all selected for the first game of the new season against West Ham United last Saturday. The only question surrounds who plays at centre-back.

The five who were rested and didn't travel were:

TogoFWEmmanuel Adebayor
EnglandMFAaron Lennon
FranceDFYounès Kaboul
Denmark MFChristian Eriksen
FranceMFÉtienne Capoue

And the one player who did travel but didn't play was:
EnglandDF
Danny Rose

With Kyle Naughton receiving a red card last week he is suspended so Eric Dier is likely to move back to right-back from where he scored the winner in injury time against West Ham.

Younès Kaboul is certain to start having been rested which leaves a choice of either Michael Dawson who while on the bench last week wasn't fit enough to come on and Jan Vertonghen who played his first game of what for him is still pre-season on Thursday. How he recovers will have to be monitored as we wouldn't want him coming down with an injury this early in the season due to tiredness.

If he is deemed to have recovered well enough then he'll take his place alongside Kaboul but if not Dawson will slot into the right side of a central pairing with Kaboul moving over to the left.

That is likely to be the only change from the opening game leaving Étienne Capoue to resume his defensive midfield role alongside Nabil Bentaleb.
