No signings

I have read through a fair few user comments relating to the type of players we need to buy this summer in a bid strengthen our squad.

To be completely honest, I feel that we don't need to spend any money on superstar players.

The last few games have shown that we have a solid and most importantly, settled side. Why go out and buy high profile players?

Our squad could do with some new recruitments, but as a first eleven, we are covered.

If the season had started in April, we would be 2nd in the league.

I believe that given another few months, our current side will get better and stronger.

Harry and his staff have got the team playing.

Adding a charade of talent, could unsettle the side, but saying that, it's still great fun seeing the likes of Muntari, Glenn Johnson, Bastos, etc. signing up.

Let's hope Harry sticks to his guns and only buys 1 or 2 players. If it were me, the 1 or 2 players I'd go for would be players that could compliment the squad. The type of players that wouldn't expect to start every game.

A season without European football could be a blessing in disguise.

There are those that feel we have to make the Europa League in an attempt to attract the best players. This simply isn't the case. Harry himself stated this last week. If playing in the best league, within London and for Tottenham Hotspur isn't enough, then they're not right for the club.

  1. rididculous article! you must be blind - we need players to complete - and harry is right players who are not young up and comers, but established pros who can hit the ground runnnig
  2. I sort of agree with this article in the fact that we seem to start every season with a completely new side.

    I still feel that players like Muntari and Johnson would do a fantastic job and neither would unsettle the side.

I think Muntari would be an excellent addition to the squad and along with Palacios would form one of the strongest midfield pairing in the country giving modric and lennon the freedom to do their thing.. I'm currently reading at reports suggesting that we are going to buy Santa Cruiz. Where does that leace JD or keane?? i think we don't need glen johnson..
  5. Are you a retard? We could do with a proper LM and somebody to kick backward/sideways Jenas out the team! We do only need to strengthen in a couple of places though!

    I'd like to also give a big thank you to all the listeners of the show. Both Mike and me know that their are only about 16 listeners worldwide, but it still make the show worth it.

    We don't need a left midfielder. Where would Modric play?

    Jenas is top quality in my book. Anyone who sees the lad play live will confirm that.
  8. You are not allowing for players who want to leave , Gomes , Hudd , Bent , Jenas , Bale and Pav could or will leave in the summer . I think a 2/3 top class players need to be drafted in , but thats about it... no more wholesale changes please.

  10. spot on Mr Cornwall. I really hope we dont get 7th and have to start our season in July just to compete in the europa. Theres no point to that competition, it would take us 19 games to win it, i'd rather concentrate on the home competitions. We dont need another wave of new players, every year we do it and every year we look like a team of strangers until after xmas.
  11. Spot on Phil. One more player with grit and skill in midfield would be icing on the cake but other than that, we're settled. That's the first time any of us have been able to say that since BMJ left.

    Thanks for the support. As I've said all along, supporting Spurs is a way of life. You can change your missus, but you can't change your love for Tottenham Hotspur.

  15. The only reason I want us to finish 7th is so that we can finish higher than the Spanners.

    I've always said that there must be something wrong with the water in Essex.

    It still makes me laugh when I think of a West Ham fan that I used to work with. He used to go absolutely potty when I or others in the office said that Tottenham were a bigger club. He would literally foam at the mouth and come out with remarks such as;

    "I hate it when you lot start saying that you're a bigger club than us.

    "Just because you've got a bigger stadium and have won more things, doesn't make you Spuds a bigger club".

    And to that, I would reply;

    "Err, yes.....it does".
  16. Love the show Phil - only found out about it a few weeks ago, so been working backwards through them! Great to hear sense regarding Andy Gray - have been saying it for years about his bias against us - and indeed to him in his local not far from me, although must say his daughter is very nice!! Downside is the tickets I feel obliged to rip up for show at the O2.
  17. ok so lets put it this was..if you all want a balanced 4-4-2 with a proper left winger 2 solid brickshithouse midfilders and lennon on the right how do you fit in the well over rated modric if we got 22mil take it and before you lot av a go he for me did not do much in his 1st season.he does not fit into our system.
  18. letting modric go would be a step backwards after a mixed first season i feel the best is still to come from him i would like to see a quality centre half brought in another solid midfield and keep the strikers we have but a new captain is needed so as to drop keane to make him hungry again pav has to stay cant understand why he gets so much stick 14 goals in his first season i feel was good especially as he had played for 4 months prior to the start of ours long season for him oh and i decent back up goalie chelsea reject is too old and past his best
