It's an important tour for Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has added his voice to the build up to Spurs pre-season tour.



This tour has become more important than most with a new head coach, a new style, a host of players with something to prove after disastrous performances last season and a host of players away at the World Cup.

“We’re looking forward to the Tour and travelling to America and Canada. We need to continue to work hard and we’ll start to play matches.

“It’s important to go the Tour to improve (our fitness), to develop our style and start to compete in matches. Our objective is to arrive at the first game of the season in the best condition.

“We use pre-season and the matches to improve our physical and tactical condition. At this moment, we’re happy and we’re looking forward to developing our pre-season on Tour.”

Tours are always important for fitness but most interest will centre around the system and how the Tottenham players adapt to it.
