Are you part of the 96%?

Are you part of the 96%?
Are you in the 4% or part of the 96%?

Dejan Kulusevski's recent admission that he's been compelled to play matches at "40% fitness" due to Tottenham Hotspur's injury crisis is a stark testament to the unseen battles waged behind the scenes at the club.

fans ought to take such things into account, but they don't.

While fans are quick to voice their frustrations - 3,000 recently protested against Chairman Daniel Levy and the club's ownership without having any plans themselves - there's a glaring disconnect between perception and reality.

Kulusevski's revelation reveals a squad stretched to its limits...

With only "10 or 11 fit players" available across four competitions.

It has been a monumental physical and mental challenge.

Imagine you operating at work at 40%.

Plenty of you would be happy to and that speaks volumes about you.

You're the deadwood!

If you could only operate at 40%, most of you wouldn't even go to work.

You wouldn't think it was worth it.

You couldn't produce anywhere near your best.

How many of you are doing your best at work every day?

Very few of you, most of you will be doing a good consistent job...

Like most footballers.

But that isn't good enough to win anything.

Only those of you on a lifelong learning trail...

Actively working to improve yourselves are those with winning mentalities.

The 3,000 - not one of them is on a lifelong learning journey, I can guarantee it.

These are the very people you hire because you see potential.

1% are worth it.

3% are making a good fist of it.

The rest it wouldn't make any difference if you bought and sold them in a working transfer window.

A few you want to get shot of and employment laws prevent you.

The bulk of the 96% will whine and moan that they know better, they could do it better, but none of the can.

They can't be bothered.

No they want someone to do it for them.

They want someone to implement your ideas.

Of course that would mean the company going into decline...

Because you don't actually have a clue about running a majoe business.

Yes, an individual's job tells you all about him.

How he operates in that, even more.

Most footballers are in that 96%.

You want a squad filled with the 4%.

The 96% will drag you down to mediocrity.

Tottenham are seeking the high flyers.

They seek the young, full of energy, passion and a desire to grow.

They don't want the 96% beaten into being mediocre employees.

I'm fully behind the 4%.

Yes they need challenging...

Because challenges will reveal whether they have what it takes to be in the 1%.

Djed Spence as an example.

He is not in the 1%.

He is showing some abilities to be in the 4%.

However, he is also showing weaknesses that will push him into the 96%...

Where he will stagnate and decline.

His mentality will determine that.

The reason why we should continually look to do more mentality work with sports psychologists.

I think we are getting together a squad with the right mentalities and it is for that reason that a trophy is very near and why I think this is our best chance yet to win a trophy, the UEFA Europa League.
