Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 40

Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 40

Today in Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 40 we will look at what the successful do and how it differs from what the Spurs fans on social media do.

It would seem that fans worry about who other clubs sign, whether it strengthens or weakens them, but in reality, nobody knows, they can only guess.

Plenty of clubs sign players and do not improve.

Everton have spent £500m to just avoid relegation, Arsenal have spent and are in the UEFA Europa League, Manchester United have bought, Ronaldo, Sancho, Varane and where are they?

The reality is you do not know if a new signing wwill be a success or not, but fans assume every signing will be a success and thus worry about who other clubs sign.

I couldn't give a monkey's who they sign, who Spurs sign is all that matters and what we do with the signings.

This is yet another difference between successful people or winning mentality people and the fan on the street.

A winning mentality only concerns themselves with the things that they can control, not outside influences.

Indeed spending time on outside influences detracts from the time spent on activities you can control, thus reducing your output or performance.

Conte couldn't care less who our rivals sign, only who Tottenham sign and what he can do to maximise performance of every individual.

I touched on this again the other day, improving our emotional intelligence.

In simple terms, you identify what you can control and concentrate on that, you stop worrying about things you can't control, what will be, will be.

This is why all this talk of making a marquee signing or a statement signing is all complete nonsense.

It is just for fan ego and our clueless media, who after all are merely fans themselves.

Clubs and players take no notice, well, the ones with winning mentalities don't.

Tottenham Transfer Talk

Nabil Fekir

Tottenham are undertaking background checks on 29-year-old (yesterday) attacking-midfielder Nabil Fekir.

The French international (25 caps, 2 goals, 3 assists) is a player Spurs were linked with before, but he went to Spain where he plays for LaLiga side Real Betis.

In total he has played 99 LaLiga games, scoring 18 goals and providing 21 assists in 8,095 minutes.

That equates to 89.94 full games and is a goal or assist contribution every 207.56 minutes.

By comparison, in 145 Ligue 1 games, through 18,393 minutes, he scored 54 goal and had 34 assists.

That's a goal or assist contribution every 209 minutes.

It is being reported that they want £40m which is not true, that is pure laziness from journalists and regurgitation social media accounts, they want 40 million euros, not pounds.

Convert it and it's £33.91m which is a whole different ball game.

It jst shows the level of effort these people put in, they are only interested in advertising clicks, not providing you with the right information.

We all get things wrong, but there is no excuse for not converting money to give people financial accuracy at least.

Giovanni Lo Celso

Fiorentina have asked to take Argentinian midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso on a season-long loan which we rejected. Their offer needs to include at least an option to buy.

Conte didn't take Lo Celso on the pre-season tour making it very clear he has no place left at Tottenham.

Perhaps the slower pace of football in Italy will suit him better and give him more time to see a pass and execute his undoubted skills, as LaLiga seems to have done for Érik Lamela.

Qatar 2022 World Cup is coming up and Lionel Scaloni wants all his footballers of the Argentine National Team arrive in the best shape, that means playing regularly so Lo Celso must leave Spurs.

Tottenham want a sale, but if not then a loan with an obligation to buy clause rather than an option to buy and we are asking for a minimum of €20m which European clubs feel is steep.

Sergio Reguilón

Tottenham are in discussions with Sevilla over a swap deal that will include Spanish international (6 caps, 0 goals, 2 assists) left-back Sergio Reguilón.

Wages are a stumbling block as he receives nearly €3m net and Sevilla will not want to pay that.

Japhet Tanganga

AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur met on Friday to discuss defender Japhet Tanganga and further talks are planned for Thursday with Fabio Paratici in Milan to try and thrash out a formula acceptable to both sides that will make a deal possible.

AC Milan are expected to make contact with Tanganga's representatives on Thursday as well.

As ever this will include a discussion over whether there will be an obligation or option clause after an initial loan spell.

Memphis Depay

Well this one seems to have more legs than expected in the Spanish press at least with Sport reporting that Spurs are willing to offer £11.89m (€14m - US$14.21m - AUS$20.86m) but Spanish giants Barcelona want £16.97m (€20m - US$20.30m - AUS$29.80m).

As ever, the player does not wish to leave Barcelona but he has been told that his future is 'bleak', not what you want to hear in World Cup year.

Victor Osimhen

There is a rumour circulating that Fabio Paratici is going to make a bid for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The suggested bid is €65millions + add-ons (£55.16m - US$65.88m - AUS$96.79m) with Napoli only entertaining bids of over €100m (£84.86m - US$191.15m - AUS$144.9m).

How much there is in it I don't know but hehe, as I say a rumour doing the circuit.

Bayern Munich are interested in him replacing Robert Lewandowski who got his move to Barcelona that had clearly been planned between both parties for quite a while..

Where Barcelona Are Getting Their Money From

June 30 (Reuters) - Barcelona have agreed to sell a 10% stake in their LaLiga TV rights for the next 25 years to US private equity group Sixth Street for 207.5 million euros ($215.84 million) as they look to improve their financial situation, the club announced on Thursday.
