Pandemic Mourinho Dier's First

Pandemic Mourinho Dier's First

Well good day folks and welcome to some more Tottenham Tittle Tattle from Tottenham Hotspur Blog News on another sunny day, here on the coast in Kent, the Garden of England.

We shall start today with the thing that keeps you all reading, yes culinary advice.

It's Lamb Mince today so ladies (one man crusade to bring sexism and thus chivalry back, as opposed to shivery, being left out in the cold) grab your utensils and let's get cracking.

To feed the hungry hoards on a budget, every masterchef has mince in their freezer.

Get out the slow cooker, it's brilliant for cooking too much and having enough for another day or two.

Got fussy eaters, well throw in some pearl barley, throw in some lentils (no I'm not going all vege), add the oxo cube.

Throw in a tin of tomatoes, small or large and some peas.

Chop the carrots, throw them in, onion, mushrooms, hell chuck in the potatoes if you want to too. Alternatively you can cook these later so your treasures can mash them up on their plates and mix in the mince to make everything even more filling.

Seasoning with salt and pepper.

Turn the slow cooker on and forget about it.

Day 2 - You are going to have some leftovers so if you need to eke it out a bit more then throw in a tin of baked beans (minus the tin - well some people take things literally).

Get your biggest pan of boiling water ready and a packet of dumpling mix.

Follow the instructions and make plenty of dumplings to go around but be careful as these things grow somewhat in water.

Potatoes optional.

Day 3 or alternative for Day 2.

Move mixing to a dish for the oven, make dumplings in the same manner, place on top of the mince with yet more added vegetables if required.

Leave the lid off (important) and cook for 30 minutes.

You now have delicious mince and cobblers you can serve with potatoes.

delicious.

Your little soldier will be happy and your children will be too.

Right having fed you lot for a few days, you can now digest the remainder of the article for pudding (can't miss out on puddings).

Plenty of people haven't the faintest idea that the pandemic has made a difference toi football.

Regular reader Pat Bohan does and one of his Tweets has inspired this article...blame him!

Things can't just continue as they were and clubs have to recover financially before they can move forward again.

Valencia have just put their entire first team squad up for sale apart from two players.

One player we have been interested in for a while is 27-year-old (28 next February) central midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Our stadium, which we have to pay for has not been generating matchday revenue for us since March 4th, so it will soon be 5 months.

How would you survive if someone took away a huge chunk of your income for 5 months?

Would you simply continue spending as your are or would you cut your cloth to meet the situation?

Yes, you would adjust your spending.

You would try to find bargains, you consider every penny you spent and whether you needed to, you would look for alternative answers.

So why is it you don't apply that same logic to Spurs and to the transfer market?

You think football isn't a part of the real world?

Why can't you show a shred of understanding for the situation football and Spurs find themselves in?

But no, that doesn't fit with the anti-agenda does it.

Everything must be done your way or it is wrong, alternatively you could be wrong and the  rest of us right!

Just look at this Tweet, it follows on from my recent article that the situation isn't as bad as the failure mentality people seem to think.

Spurs 4th and not at our best yet, since the restart top of the shop and the failure mentality folk want to call for a plane and change everything!

Rather demonstrates they are not interested in Spurs success only on being proved right themselves.

This is the sort of clown we have following us,they obviously aren't supporting us, not if they know how to read a dictionary.

To start with José Mourinho was not brought in to achieve top four this season, he was brought in to win trophies on a regular basis.

The understanding with Daniel Levy was that, given the fact he was not working with "his" players, but another managers players and the fact he had no summer transfer window to change anything, he had a free hand this season and was guaranteed to be starting next season to move the club forward.

Yes he ideal was to achieve top four but that isn't not in the manner in which this individual suggests.

Our form is top of the table so if ever you needed proof of what I said the other day, some so-called supporters, who don't actually properly support the club, only support anything done on their terms, anything that proves them to be right and not as this guy is, utterly wrong.

These silly people who can't write a few sentences without obscenity, which in turn demonstrates their intelligence level, are just the people to block from your timeline and leave festering to an ever decreasing audience.

Positivity breeds success, negativity breeds failure.

I won't bother taking a vote whether his mentality breeds success.

Our form is top of the table, all change please.

You just know he wanted to see a plane don't you.

As I was saying, there is no problem with Eric Dier's contract negotiations.Ihe club have officially announced he has signed an extension until 2024.

Eric Dier: "Crazy to think i've been here for 6 years. My target is clear, I want to be the very best in the league at my position. My objective is to win trophies here, the same as the manager."

I'll repeat again, this guy could be a future captain of Spurs, you can see at centre-back he has the right attitude.

I was chatting on Twitter about him to SWSpurs who was talking about his inconsistency and that he didn't rate him but accepted he could be a squad player.

For me SWSpurs was judging him on his midfield performances, for which he had a point, but as he has now been converted back to a centre-back, then we should be judging him on those performances alone now.

At least that was the basis of my argument, which reminded me of that mainstream media piece that Harry Winks place was in danger with the arrival of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

AS I pointed out, we have sold Victor Wanyama so have a hole in the squad to fill and in addition, Eric Dier has been moved to centre-back, so we have two holes in that position to fill.

Yet this reporter thinks we need to make three holes for one player to fill!

Is that logical to you?

Do you think that was inside information as he was trying to make us believe (as they all do) or comlete made up bullshit?

I go for option B.

Now I have long called for the use of sports psychologists, for Tottenham to lead the way and pioneer mental training in football as part of standard football training, just like learning a new shooting technique.

Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club have stolen a march on us.

The rumblings of Danny Rose show that mental health is an area of the club that needs improvement and surely if you are using psychologists to solve off the field issues, which produces better play on the field, you would also tackle on the field mental issues, wouldn't you?

If another club introduces mental training before Spurs do I'll be very disappointed.

Character development gentlemen, character development, isn't that what I have been espousing.

Grow players mentally, assess all potential transfer purchases mentally as a part of the scouting process (by professionals, not amateur, in this field, scouts).

Even those within the industry can see football clubs are miles behind the times. I want Spurs to be at the cutting edge and I fail to understand why we are not, given the benefits it would produce vs the minimal coat involved.

How much does a player coat?
How much would a team of sports psychologists and a wellbeing department cost?
Under £1m? Under £500,000? Under £250,000?

Talk about money well spent.

Which player would you buy?
a) A £60m player your sports psychologist has mentally assessed
b) A £60m player with no professional sports psychologist assessment and thus a fingers crossed gamble he just might have the right mentality

It's a no brainer, so why is everyone opting for approach B?

Surely the club that takes approach A is going to steal a march on their competition and see an impact on the pitch.

A club who waits to see results before engaging such an approach could be 5 years behind the pioneers.

Tottenhan have a tradition of being first.

First non-league team to win the FA Cup (and only)
First British team to win a major European trophy
First team to win the double in the 20th century (when it was believed impossible to do)
First team to really pioneer the signing of major overseas stars (Ardiles & Villa, 2 World Cup winners\).

It is time to create a new frst and stride towards bigger and better things with the confidence and swagger that such endeavour would bring, not only to the players and staff, but to fans as well?

After yesterdays marathon 4,008 article I'll call it a day there and have some time to myself in the sunshine.

I deserve it coz I'm a Spurs fan.

If you haven't read that article yet, you really should, it talks about the right-back berth too.
