Kim Min-jae Update

Good morning one and all, the article I was writing for today has swiftly been replaced by a Kim Min-jae update.

No messing, straight into it.

Now there are plenty of people on social media telling you no such negotiation between Spurs and Chinese Super League team Beijing Sinobo Guoan for the centre-back have taken place, but they most certainly have.

He is a cost effective solution the club unearthed. Obviously he has been scouted, indeed he has been scouted by clubs across Europe but it is Spurs who have moved to secure him.

The Chinese club have asked him to stay according to the media, but it is believed they have already bought his replacement in the shape of 24-year-old (25 next March) Fan Yang in February of this year for £2.32m.

I have already said this deal is likely to go ahead in the first week in August and as negotiations stand, Spurs and Beijing Sinobo Guoan are a little apart on the fee.

Beijing want, I believe, £15.46m (€17m - AUS$27.76m - US$19.44m).

Spurs are offering, I believe, £12.74m (€14m - AUS$22.86m - US$16m).

Kim Min-jae played in the Asian Games and scored a goal in the final, (a near post header) with assist from a certain Son Heung-min that freed Sonny from two years compulsory military service.

There are plenty of negotiations through the media as well with stories being fed the Chinese club won't sanction a move, well of course they won't until a fee is agreed!
