Fans can expect the same strategy next summer

TOTTENHAM TALK
In the news this morning is Danny Murphy telling the London Evening Standard that Fernando Llorente is an excellent addition to the squad and that Serge Aurier is a decent full-back. Many would say he is a bit better than decent.
“Llorente should be excellent back-up for Harry Kane but, if Tottenham are chasing the game, they could play together. Spurs face a lot of defensively minded teams so Llorente will allow them to get balls into the box from wide – and there is nothing wrong with playing that way when required.
“I also like the look of Serge Aurier. He has been a decent full-back and is an excellent athlete, so he should be able to cope with the physical side of English football.”
Transfers are still a matter of balancing the books for Spurs with outgoing money matched by incoming money, player sales produce the opportunity for purchases. In reality, transfer fees are lumped together into annual instalments, both incoming fees and outgoing fees. The positive difference in these figures adds to any additional transfer pot.
We know these figures for the next few years and thus know where we stand. Not all players are going to stay forever, much as fans would like them to, that isn't the real world. Big players will be sold in future, every club sells them, but that allows future stars to come in.
It will remain that way until the new stadium starts generating additional income, then we can start addressing issues such as wages which will then help to keep the players happy in the manner fans want.
There is a clear strategy, it just can't be implemented at the speed fans might like.

So what was the point in the first place?
Is that the strategy that we can expect?
He may or may not make good but he doesn't offer us what we need so he has to be discarded to make room for the next fella. It's professional sport !

p.s. only some?
That's the bit that gets me. If a player wants a move he is a money grabbing B but if the club want rid of you it's by bye bye, no hard feelings.
If we had done our business early, everyone knows where they stand and V/J knows he's out but dear old Danny loves a deal so everyone has to play along. To him and us , we save a couple of mill but the flip side is where does that leave a decent hard working V/J who just happens not to be quite good enough at his job ?
I known exactly what's coming at me from this comment , as wages , players choice of clubs and any other all valid reasons are directed but it is also other peoples lives that are at stake and that is professional at it's worst and you could say that is why they are paid so high and have no place for complaint.
I'm a big fan of VJ, but I'm not sure that he could really get too much sympathy from your average fan as being harshly treated. It's a big business world out there, and frankly top level football players are doing very well out of that indeed.
Should the worse come to the worst and he's discarded from Spurs then sold on for X millions of pounds then he's still on a salary that most of those supporting THFC can only dream of.
It seems to me that those wages are offered and with that comes an expectation that the player will perform at the top level. VJ hasn't shown yet that he can do that. There are many millions that would love to be in his place but can't be. It may be that it turns out that he can't either. Is that really unfair on him?
I'd love to see him do better. I'd love to see him succeed at Spurs. Is it really Spurs and Mauricio's job to ensure his f…
For his attitude I'm glad for him.
