A not altogether surprising loss to West Ham in midweek is now followed by the biggest North London Derby in my living memory. Three points clear in second place with a better goal difference and playing at home, we have the opportunity to go six points clear.

More importantly though, we are one win away from the top spot and pressure needs to be kept on Leicester City. At this stage of the season, you never know how each individual will react although the journalists who put the defeat at West Ham down to nerves were belittling the achievement of West Ham. It has been a theme of Sir Chris Hoy throughout the two days coverage I have seen to stress that there is only positivity in the event squads within the British camp.

Negativity has to be blocked out or avoided. If there is a setback then it is an opportunity for someone else, if a poor time is recorded there is an opportunity to analyse why and train to put it right. 

Promoting negativity online strongly suggest the desire for failure is stronger than the desire for success. Why then would any sensible Spurs fan promote negativity? The players will be wanting the supporter with a better grasp today, the one that supports their side and gets behind their team. People resort to default under pressure, not just sportsman but everyone. If someone has a default setting which is negative, in other words, they want to complain about the very thing they profess to support, then when Spurs are under pressure their negativity come shining through, the last thing the side actually needs.

You see them all the time, supporters who spend the game moaning when they should be cheering, it's their default character coming through, fortunately, the majority don't suffer those limitations and have a more positive outlook. There is nothing worse for a negative supporter than a positive on because they can't drag you down to their level. Remain positive in your support and indeed in every area of life and your immediate world will be a happier and better place for it.

Our away fans have done sterling work this season and this is a game where creating an intimidating atmosphere can have an effect, that entails positive support. An intimidating atmosphere is created by noise a cacophony of noise, not insults so let us hear each and every one of you today.
