Hatry Winks loan to Glasgow Rangers

The Daily Record and Sunday Mail up in Scotland have released a story suggesting Rangers want to take Tottenham Hotspur youngster Harry Winks to Rangers.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton is looking to take one of our Development Squad to the Scottish giants, 19-year-old (20 in February) central midfielder Harry Winks. Last season he played in 18 Premier League Under-21 games, briefly made an appearance in the UEFA Europa League at home to Partizan Belgrade and sat on the bench in the final Premier League game of the season against Everton.

Winks, who has represented England at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 levels is a highly regarded youngster and Rangers are currently in the Championship in Scotland having failed to secure promotion last year. Warburton has taken over as boss and already has a dialogue with Spurs as he was the manager at Brentford last season where he has another Spurs youngster, 22-yar-old (although he was 21 then) Alex Pritchard.

Warburton is hoping that his relationship with Spurs and the fact that Pritchard impressed under him will help persuade Spurs to part with Winks for a season-long loan. Tottenham have confirmed that talks have taken place with Warburton over the possibility but at this stage are keeping their options open.
