Another Tottenham target bites the dust

The news from the Italians is that Tottenham target, although only as a backup option to other targets, Giannelli Imbula is still, as expected, going to join Inter Milan.
The assumption had been that now they have paid a massive £28.55 million (US$44.83m - AUS$58.02m - €40m) for Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco that they would no longer pursue their interest in Imbula. That now appears not to be the case.
Negotiations have been ongoing between Inter and Marseille, first there were stories personal terms had been agreed but the clubs were apart on a transfer fee, then a fee was agreed, but personal terms were not, now it's Inter want to sign him on loan for a season and purchase next summer for £m (US$34.94m - AUS$44.95m - €30.77m). Football Italia have reported the story from the Italian media.
The two clubs are said to be meeting again to complete the move which will involve a £713,144 (US$1.12m - AUS$1.45m - €1m) loan fee plus the mandatory purchase price. A similar deal to the one which is seeing Lewi Holtby join German side Hamburg in 1 July.
Tottenham are trying to secure their number one target Morgan Schneiderlin, but then so are a host of clubs. Southampton are selling, that we know, he has refused to sign a new contract and thus his value after this summer will diminish.
Will the Pochettino factor sway the decision our way, we'll have to wait and see.
