Chiriches took the captain's arm band for the evening, an evening that went well for the Spurs Development Squad as we beat our local rivals comfortably. The task was made easier when Arsenal had to play three quarters of the game with 10 men.

Souleymane Coulibaly opened the scoring for Spurs from the penalty spot after 26 minutes of the first-half.

Spurs left-back Connor Ogilvie robbed Arsenal's Jon Toral and then Ruben Lameiras, who had an impressive game, showed clever footwork to beat both Semi Ajayi and Isaac Hayden. Through on goal into the box with only Arsenal keeper Matt Macey to beat, he was tugged down by Hayden, for which the referee had no option but to send the Arsenal man off.

Despite creating plenty of chances Arsenal keeper Macey kept us at bay, or we hit the post or shot over. Finally the deserved second goal came in the 82nd minute when Harry Winks scored with a shot from the edge of the box, wrapping up the three points and a 2-0 victory.

Playing against 10 men Chiriches had little to do at centre-back, however he did go through himself late on and could have made it 3-0 but he was also denied by keeper Macey. Having been out for 12 games a run out for 90 minutes worth no injury worries will have been a worthwhile exercise for him.
