Everton Are Keen On Keane

Everton have made an informal enquiry for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane I can reveal. Everton value Keane at around £5 million, which, falls short of the £7 million valuation Tottenham have of him.

Although Everton's valuation of him does fall short, Martin Jol may let Keane go for around £5.5 million so as to free up cash for the Johnson move.

Jol has made it clear to the Tottenham supremo, Levy, that he wants the Crystal Palace striker in his squad before the pre-season games kick-off.

Crystal Palace's outspoken chairman is asking ?15 million for Johnson, as the highly inflated figure would be a hindrance to any clubs interested in the Palace and England star man.

Jol is ready to offer £7 million and will also throw in his young center-back, Davenport as part of the deal.

Tottenham have already turned down a £4.5 million offer for Kanoute, as it is believed that they can get £7 million for the Mali international. With Keane now also linked away from the club, we can expect either Keane or Kanoute to be at other clubs come the start of the 2005/2006 season, with another new face in the striking department at Tottenham.
