Nada on Samba

Isn't The Sun just great? I mean, it publishes an article about Harry "signing Blackburn's Christopher Samba in a £10 million swoop", then fails to deliver one shred of evidence on the matter. No "sources close to Harry Redknapp" or "friends of the Congo star" were even mentioned. God forbid a quote from anyone directly related with the story.

You've got to love these red tops.

I tell you what though, signing Samba would be an excellent bit of business. The centre-back has been in great form and he's certainly built for the Premier League.

If I had the option to take him over Bassong, I'd snap Samba up in a heartbeat.

Shame, the story's probably a load of tosh.

  1. He's probably the best centre-half outside of the top four and by that, I even mean better that Woodgate and King.

    The guys a rock and puts himself on the line in every game.

  2. Everton are in for him to and he'll most probably go there after Julie Lescott ditched Moyes for Arabian gold.
  3. 10 million is a joke though - especially with Harry holding out for astronomical ammounts fro dross like Bent. How about 10 million + Bentley?

    And as for Everton, if they want Samba - then they'll hav eto pay big too. He's easily worth as much as Lescott.

  6. Why on earth would Samba want to leave Blackburn where he is a well-respected player to act as a stand-in at the footballer's graveyard that it Tottenham?
  7. Samba is not leaving Blackburn end of chat. Why would he want to go to a team who are going to finish further down the league than Blackburn. Tottenham are the southern version of newcastle spend loads of money and get no where!!!!!
  8. You lot rate Samba too highly. Sure he has massive potential but he is far from a world class centre back yet. He makes countless silly mistakes, doesn't read the game that well and is generally a bit naive in his defending. £10 million and he's yours. Givet is a more than adequate replacement

  12. I would rather Samba than Bassong, big, strong, powerful center half. The kind strikers don't like going up against. I'd expect to see the number of goals conceded from free kicks and corners drop with this bloke defending in our box. Not forgetting he has a habit of scoring against us, so it sorts that problem out too.

  13. the samba transfer may have come a little late for both clubs. Had rovers still needed a striker and had Bent still been at the Lane maybe something could have been done. However on our part, if we did get 10 for Samba the bank would give us 8 to spend and who will we get for 8 if Samba went for 10 and lescott to citeh for 20 odd?
