Transfermarkt valuation: £12.15m (€13.35m - AUS$21.86m - US$14.99m)
  • 19-year-old (20 in October) Red Bull Salzburg left-sided midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is a wanted man.
  • His agent is Matyas Esterhazy from the EM Sports agency and he is currently very busy dealing with all the interest in his client.
  • Interested parties include - Atlético Madrid, Sevilla, Bayern Munich, Hertha Berlin, Lazio, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli, Liverpool, Manchester United, Wolves, Arsenal and PSG (list not complete).
  • All interested parties have made unofficial enquiries through his agent.
Let's move on to some stories of specific interest with different people claiming different clubs are in "pole position".
  • Arsenal are in advanced talks according to French journalist Manu Lonjon with Edu Gaspar and agent Kia Joorabchian doing the negotiations.
  • Research suggests Arsenal have made an offer worth an initial £15.46m (€17m - AUS$27.82m - US$19.08m) + £7.27m (€8m - AUS$13.09m - US$8.98m) in addons with personal terms agreed ‘in principle’ for a 5 year contract worth around £55,000 (€60,456 - AUS$98,928 - US$67,854) per week.
  • Italian newspaper La Repubblica claim Ralf Rangnick, who is expected to be AC Milan's new coach and sports director, has agreed to the transfer of Szoboszlai.
  • Milan are said to be offering £18.19m (€20m - AUS$32.72m - US$22.45m).
  • Lazio are reported to have made a bid of £17.28m (€19m - AUS$31.08m - US$21.32m) and offered him a 4-year contract.
  • Forgot to note down which French outlet but one of them is reporting that PSG have opened negotiations.
  • Szoboszlai has a release clause of £21.83m (€24m - AUS$39.27m - US$26.93m) which is payable in 3 instalments.
  • Salzburg Sporting Director, Christoph Freund, has denied all reports claiming talks.
"I can deny it. Paris Saint-Germain hasn't contacted us. No club has actively contacted us yet."

So  that means that there are unofficial talks through agents working for the club, player and buying clubs, but nothing has been agreed or if it has it hasn't been made official with a written bid.

Agreements in principle with players agents do not always mean he is signing, agents agree deals in principle with many clubs.

All they are doing is finding out what clubs are offering to put that to RB Salzburg and agree with clubs a potential financial package for the player.

The player himself in discussion with his agent can then decide the best move to advance his career, some will put money first, some will put football first, but when at the various level during their careers, most put Champions League, then Europa League football first.

Remember of course the transfer window hasn't actually opened yet so before Sours fans get excited and to disappoint Arsenal fans who appear to be falsely told they are favourites, we'll look at a quote from the player himself.

  • Dominik Szoboszlai told DAZN (British subscription sports streaming service first launched in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Japan) that he prefers a move to an Italian club.
There we have the story.

He is wanted around Europe and prefers to go to Italy himself where there are plenty of offers for him but it looks highly likely that he has already agreed to join AC Milan.
